Strike is basically a mining operation

Cryptomanran has done it again, poked the XRP hornets nest and without hesitation they've swarmed.

🧵

As someone who's previously had $XRP as their biggest bag. I have been keeping tabs on the ongoings of the Ripple contra SEC  proceedings through the posts and videos of @moonlamboio. An XRP maximalist that had gained my respect even before I chanced upon Banter.

Moonlambo retorted with the simple observation that all that Jack Mallers had introduced was what Ripple had unveiled 7 years ago, but brought into question the lightning networks ability to scale to handle the volumes that the Ripple Network shuttles daily (claiming it to be in the trillions of dollars).

However, it was Moonlambo's critique of Mallers' claim that all these capabilities will be offered for virtually free and questioning how this could be achieved given the costly and substantial architecture required to support an operation of this magnitude that really got me wondering "Qui bono".

One possible conclusion is that Mallers has engineered an unconventional mining rig for $BTC. One not at mercy to the Bitcoin's block complexity, hash rate, or halving.

When one makes a transaction using Strike/the lightning network where does that BTC go if not to the recipient's wallet?

Mallers?
