The ad campaigns are one of the chief aspects of BBS. It is how income is distributed to the community. We can also run an ad campaign on BBS. We can promote our BBS profiles, boards etc. or link to an external source like an affiliate link and so on. Just don't go break the rules, that's all.

Step 1

Go to your profile and navigate to the REVENUE section.

Now scroll down to find the following area.

This is the interface used to create an ad campaign. This might be slightly different for you if you haven't run an ad yet.

Step 2

Click on the edit banner option. The following window will pop up.

This is where you can set up custom banner , link and description.

BANNER

The banner image is to be in a specific ratio to be suitable. Else some parts can be cropped out.

The ratio of length to width is to be 4 :1 . That is if length is  10 cm , width is to be 2.5 cm.

DESCRIPTION

Even though there is space for 100 letters it is not recommended to use more than 40 or 50 as the description can look a little cramped if it has too much letter count.

LINK

You can use any link here. But make sure the link is appropriate and not a scam. It can be taken down if it is found inappropriate.

If all is set, then click SAVE.

Step 3

The next step is to click the Ad Campaign Settings button. Then this pops up.

There are 2 things to do here.

Only cashable can be used to run ads and you have to set a budget. An ad runs until the budget runs out.

CPM is the amount you agree to pay for 1000 impression. So in this case I agree to pay $5 cashable to the community for 1000 impression.

Here I have only put $0.48 as budget and hence I won't get 1000 impression for this ad. The exact calculation for how much impression I get is as follows,

Don't give too much attention to the calculations though.

After pressing BUY  and  UPDATE   the window then reflects the BUDGET and  CPM .

PRESS CREATE and the ad will run now.

Step 4

You can monitor and take decisions about your ad now. If someone outbids you , yo can update the ad campaign. If you want to stop it, you can do that too.
