Tagging is a good method to funnel engagement. But unnecessary tagging causes repeated notifications to all tagged users and it is very annoying indeed.

To avoid the repeated tagging , the following trick can be used.

`

1.Tag all users you wish to notify ( emphasis on notify )

Here, I have tagged myself  to prove the point. As soon as I tag someone ( this case myself ) they recieve the notification.

2.After 3-4 seconds , hide the tag. This part is most important.

It is clearly visible that the notification remains after hiding. So the user/s  is notified of the tag.

This way the user won't get any additional notification due to the tag. It is not because any technical aspect , but due to user mindset as there is no need to reply to a hidden comment. This is a great relief from my experience. And if someone feel the urge to reply to a hidden comment , there's no stopping them.

Please make use of this trick.

<h2>It is a request.</h2>

I've had days when I couldn't sort through the notifications as there was so much repeated notifications that I finally quit looking.

`

Once again hoping everyone will take this seriously and follow this.
