The comments are key to the engagement in BBS. No matter how much a post is liked or bought , the comments are the deciding factor in engagement.

I accidentally found out about formatting a comment to add a variety to it. Experiments yields results.

So I dig more and about a week later I have found some interesting ways to make comments stand out in BBS.

Headlines

Creating headlines in posts are easy enough. But what about in a comment, Can you make a headline in a comment ?

Yes you can. Contrary to restricting headline size to H3 in posts comments can include H1-H6 styles.

Syntax

#H1
##H2
###H3
####H4
#####H5
######H6
Headlines Example

Bold

A comment inside 4 * makes the comment Bold.

**Bold**
Bold Example

Italics

A single * on either side of a comment makes it Italic.

So how to make a comment both bold and italic ?

Try it out in comments and tag me if you get it right.

Strike through

I think you got this , right ?

~~ Strike through ~~

Two tilde either side.

List

A simple " - " makes a list.

- First item
- Second item
- Third item
List Example

Footnote

Useful in long comments to point out a specific point seperately.

Here's a sentence with a footnote. [^1]

1: Footnote here

This one needs a little experience to figure it out.

Code

This formatting is officially termed code. This can be used here to change the font of comment. It may bot be the intended use but it looks cool enough.

`hello I am TheNewLegend `
Code Example

Try it out, It looks dope.

Task List

This one is a little , "What can I do with it ?" thing.

- [x] Inform Admin
- [ ] Wait for Update
- [ ] Acknowledge the decision
Task list Example

Check the code out and give your feedback about this. I think it can be used to track the tasks in a comment like what all the post achieved and so on.

Community Event

As you can see , I haven't included any images for reference. I will use the images of the comments you guys make below and include it in the post. It is a first come first served event and only one tip should be used in one comment.

So are you guys ready to engage ?

There might be many more such tips and maybe some  of these can be used in posts as well. I prompt you to explore these possibilities and report here to benefit the whole community.

With love,

TheNewLegend
