The much awaited BBS update is here. After the rather heartbreaking 3.0 update, the 3.1.1 brings back the hope and more life into the BBS community.
Yes, there are some questions left unanswered and we hope with all our heart it all will be addressed on the long run.
We will be diving into each points of the official announcement and try and make it more clear and concise.

1. VIDEO UPLOAD
“Video Upload” button is available when creating a new post
(Size limit 500 MB per video)
This is an exciting feature to be introduced. This one is mostly self explanatory and it acts as a great tool to increase impression. The video can only be played while the post is open. That is there will be an impression for each view.
The upload was stable and smooth on testing. While the playback was smooth the interference of a screen recorder caused some trouble.
An alternative use for this tool would be to upload GIFs. As any GIFs are automatically played without impression, using video feature instead can lead to more ad revenue.

2.RENAMING OF CASH - OUT LIMIT
It is not much but it is a curious change. The cash - out limit is now called "CASHABLE".
¶ To be honest, I am kind of attached to "cash - out limit " and not a big fan of cashable. This is all there to this change.

3. POST AD REVENUE SPLIT
This is a big deal. The official statement is,
" Post ad revenues are now divided equally between the publisher and the owner, as cashable balance in full, which is subject to a cash-out fee. "
This literally translate as follows,

4. CASH - OUT FEE
Cash - out fee is the latest concept introduced so as to reduce rushed cashing out by users and thereby congesting the entire queue.
It is a percentage of the total cash out amount paid to process the cash out request.
Important points :
a. The fee is now 90 % . This is only temporary and it is done to give time for admins to sort out the troubles in the queue and for older requests to process and make future cashing out quicker.
As we all know, the queue is literally halted and it is a troublesome experience. Even though this is a point for huge chatter just remember that it is only temporary.
b. After a set period of time reasonable enough to keep the queues moving , the fee will be reduced to 30% for some time.
In this period, 20% of the fee goes to the BBS owner and 10% to the BBS operators/software.
c. After that period, the cash out fee can be set by the admin of individual communities.
This has many users to raise concern about admins potentially gaming on the system. But rest assured that the devs will make everything clear soon. And also, this will only happen after periods 1 & 2 . So there is time until we reach there. We will cross that bridge when we get there.

5. CASHIER QUEUE
The cashier queue is now viewable under activity. Until this point we could see who all have requested cash out, but could not pin point at which point is the queue right now.
With the new update we can clearly see where we are in the queue and it is a most welcomed change.

6.CLEANING UP THE QUEUE
The update also gives users / admin the ability to cancel a cash out request.
This is a useful change to deny spammers and scammers trying to cash out from the community. The higher cash out fee is kept at this time so that they will not immediately request to cash out again. That is why 90% fee is introduced for now.
¶ I hope the BBS Admins effectively utilize the new tool to deny the scammers to cash out and thus clearing up the queue. In the past few weeks many scammers were discovered by many users and this is how they can be punished.
¶ The devs have delivered the necessary tweaks. Whether we utilize it or not is another story. I urge everyone to demand our Admin @NoControl for the same.

7. BBS TOKEN LAUNCH
" In addition, this version fixes many bugs and includes important system upgrades in preparation for the upcoming BBS token launch. "
So yeah, excited for this. We could not pinpoint the exact fixes but we will definitely feel the difference.
