Jellyfish Can be Beautiful BUT dangerous too!

Jellyfish are found all over the world, from surface waters to the deep sea.  I think they are beautiful, but I know that I should stay away from them when I am at the ocean beaches!

Even though they can injure humans, they are also considered a delicacy in some Asian countries where they are pressed and salted to remove excess water. They can also create havoc for fishermen  as they can form vast swarms, which can be responsible for damage to fishing gear by filling fishing nets. They can also sometimes clog the cooling systems of power and desalination plants which draw their water from the sea.  

Have you ever encountered a jellyfish? I have never seen any large ones, only tiny ones on the beaches in Florida.
