Imagine driving on this scenic route, majestic river on one side of you and railway tracks on the other side followed by a mountain.. This is the only way in and out, by road, to Prince Rupert, BC. This road provides the most spectacular views I have ever seen in my life, and yet to travel it would stress me out to the point that I could never enjoy it.
When I first moved to Prince Rupert, and until they widened the highway there were so many fatal accidents along this roadway and the majority of the vehicles ended up in the river. That freaked me out. The portion of river that was the worst was tidal affected and I absolutely hated travelling that road at high tide.. There were also a few landslides during my time in BC and when that happened nothing was coming in or going out unless it was by air or sea.
BUT - the beauty!! I really want to focus on the untamed wilderness, and the raw beauty of northern British Columbia and of the Skeena River. Check out this Skeena River Road Trip!
