In Genesis 2: 16 & 17, God commanded man not to eat of the tree 🌲of knowledge of good and evil.
God said in verse 17 that " .. in the day you eat of it, you shall surely die"
Adam and Eve ate of that tree 🌲and yet were still alive.
The serpent said in Genesis 3: 4 & 5 that " you will not surely die" and gave the reason why God did not want man to eat of that 🌲
