Atlanta's Baby serves as a getaway driver. He suffered an automobile accident as a toddler in which his parents perished and he was left with tinnitus. He uses iPods to calm his tinnitus and finds catharsis in music. As payment for stealing a car transporting Doc's stolen goods, criminal mastermind Doc assembles robbery gangs called "Baby ferries." In between employment, he takes care of his deaf foster father, Joseph, and remixes conversations he has recorded. He begins dating Debora, a waitress, after they cross paths.

An armed military observer chases them down during Baby's subsequent theft, but Baby manages to escape both him and the authorities. After paying off his obligation, Baby decides to give up crime and begin delivering pizzas.

Unaware of their affection, Bats orders Baby to stop at Debora's diner. Baby stops Bats from killing her so he may escape paying because she is aware of his murderous tendencies. Doc is enraged and admits that the dealers were dishonest police officers who worked for him. The crew overrides his decision to call off the attempt. Late that night, Baby makes an attempt to elude capture in order to take Debora and flee Atlanta, but he is intercepted by Buddy and Bats who have found his recordings and suspect him of being an informant. By playing them a cassette of one of his remixes, Baby persuades them and Doc of his innocence.
