The movie tells the story of Emperor Asoka's early years. His career as a general in Takshashila is where it all begins, and the brutal Kalinga conquest is where it all finishes.

The Maurya empire's Emperor Chandragupta Maurya, Asoka's great-grandfather, has chosen to convert to Jainism and relinquish the throne in favour of his son Bindusara. Prince Asoka, his grandson, wants to use the sword. The ancient emperor says that this sword is wicked and that it calls for bloodshed and carnage.

A few years later, Prince Asoka is waging a valiant fight for his Emperor and father against Taxila's renegade leader. He believes that his older half-brother Susima Maurya, who is also vying for the throne of the empire, has purposefully delayed the arrival of reinforcements, but he still manages to overcome the adversary. Asoka approaches Susima after she returns triumphant to the capital. Later, as Asoka is taking a bath, Susima attempts to kill him. The Emperor is upset by the conflict between the princes and commands Empress Dharma to restrain her son Asoka. She forces Asoka to leave the city and live a simple life for a while. Despite his disappointment, the prince departs.

Old is Gold. I have watched this movie in my childhood and Enjoyed it a lot. The story of the movie is very amazing and interesting also. Full of Action, Suspense and Thriller. Its a Historical and War Movie. The Plot and Cast was Outstanding. Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor is my favorite....!!
