Over the years, Bollywood's distinctively stylistic approach to the film medium has undergone a number of significant changes. Each of these stages has its own particular strengths, such as the evocative nature of Satyajit Ray's period of naturalist cinema or the peculiar melodrama of Amitabh Bachchan's period of criminal action flicks.
The best example of this era in Bollywood film comes from the year 1995. Unlike most other years in the business, many of that year's top-grossing films were embraced by the Indian film public as everlasting classics. The top 10 Bollywood films of 1995 are shown below.
1. Akele Hum Akele Tum

Another Bollywood film from 1995 with an intriguing plot was Akele Hum Akele Tum. The film, which was loosely modelled on the Hollywood smash Kramer vs. Kramer, examined the realities of marital conflict and divorce. Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala played two aspiring singers who fall in love and marry in the film. A split in their marriage develops when the wife achieves the achievement that the couple had been working towards separately because the husband's ego cannot tolerate his wife's success. The movie explores how their decision to split up would affect everyone involved, especially their little son.
2. Ram Jaane

Ram Jaane is an action movie about an orphan who becomes an unrepentant criminal and stars Shah Rukh Khan in an antihero character. Ram Jaane is a sombre story with an uncommon focus for Bollywood at the time. Despite having all the melodramatic flourishes, the film didn't emphasise the bravery of its criminal protagonists or a romance tale, despite the fact that both were undoubtedly present. Instead, the focus of the film was Khan's character's impact on a group of younger orphans and his interactions with them.
3. Raja

Raja was a well-liked film in the year it was released, despite not being as well remembered as the other films on this list. The film, which starred Madhuri Dixit, one of the most popular actresses of the time, opposite Sanjay Kapoor, was a romantic drama with a plot that featured notions of childhood love and familial conspiracies, which were common plot elements for Bollywood plays at the time. At the Filmfare Awards, the film received 11 nominations, including one for Best Actress, which went to Dixit.
4. Trimurti

Trimurti (which translates to "trinity"), an action film starring three of the biggest stars of the time, was the first Indian film to gross more than 10 million rupees on its opening day. Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, and Shah Rukh Khan star as the three brothers of a disgraced former police officer, who is played by Priya Tendulkar, in the film. When the brothers are older, they each take a different course in life after their mother is found guilty on false accusations brought by a crime boss. Two of them eventually land jobs with the same criminal boss that locked their mother up. These three brothers eventually put their differences aside and seek revenge on their mother as the film follows them on this trip in their life.
5. Khilona Bana Khalnayak

6. Sabse Bada Khiladi

His outstanding effort during this first stage of his career is the Khiladi film series. The third film in this series, Sabse Bada Khiladi, has a plot that is partially based on the pulp book Lallu. The story is structured as a suspenseful investigative thriller in the tradition of old-school Bollywood. The film, in which Akshay Kumar himself played a dual character, was very well received by audiences and went on to become the sixth-highest grossing film of the year.
7. Coolie No. 1

As a timeless comedy movie from a bygone period of Bollywood, Coolie No. 1 has attained cult status in current times. The film begins with a matchmaker pledging vengeance on a wealthy, pompous man for insulting him, which serves as the foundation for a humorous mix of double-dealing. A brazen porter or coolie, played by Govinda, presents the chance for retaliation. In order to marry the wealthy man's daughter, played by Karishma Kapoor, the matchmaker chooses to pose Govinda's character as the prince of Singapore.
8. Rangeela

In the love triangle drama Rangeela, Urmila Matondker played the lead. The story takes place on the periphery of the film business as Matondker's character strives to become a movie star with the help of Jackie Shroff's portrayal of a renowned movie star and her childhood best friend Aamir Khan.
9. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Around this time, Shah Rukh Khan gave some of his most famous romantic performances in films like Mohabbatein and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The cultural influence of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge may be a notch above the others. He plays a young man living in London who falls in love with a girl from a conservative household in the film opposite Kajol. One of the most cherished love stories in Bollywood history is Dilwale.
10. Karan Arjun

Karan Arjun, in which two of the three Khans who continue to dominate Bollywood film, starred, served as a stepping stone for Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's professional development. Prior to this, the two had built their reputations by portraying rivals and family dramas, respectively. By showcasing their prowess as action movie leads, Karan Arjun helped the film become an everlasting classic that received 10 Filmfare Award nominations. In the film, they play two brothers who enjoy a contented village life with their mother, who is portrayed by Rakhee.
