Introduction:

This 2022 American thriller drama movie is a sequel to the 1986 film Top Gun, which was produced by Joseph Kosinski and scripted by Ehren Kruger. Fans of "Top Gun" have been patiently waiting for a sequel for the past 35 years.

Tom Cruise stars as the leader of a dysfunctional crew of pilots who are tasked with rallying together under the guidance of their instructor in order to complete an impossible mission. Maverick accomplishes what every other sequel hopes it would be able to achieve: it provides the viewer with an experience that is simultaneously comforting and energizing. It makes advantage of the original film in order to construct a more compelling narrative with more compelling characters in action. There has never been another film on aviation quite like this one.

Story:

After more than 30 years have passed after the events of the first Top Gun, Captain Pete "Maverick" is now a test pilot for the United States Navy. He has avoided promotion in order to maintain his career in the air force after 33 years of service. Maverick is tasked with preparing a selected group of pilots, all of whom are previous graduates of TOPGUN, for an important operation that requires them to eliminate a renegade nation's nuclear enrichment plant.

Maverick initially receives opposition from the trainees, and rooster feels resentment toward Maverick since he feels Maverick prevented him from enrolling in the Naval Academy and blames him for the career setback. The training trains the cadets in all facets of the mission, including fundamental fighter manoeuvres, the deployment of special weapons and the significance of teamwork. The trainees start to reevaluate Maverick as a leader after seeing his expertise, which helps their group come together as a unit.

In the end, Maverick was shot down by the enemy despite his success in destroying the facility. After rescuing Maverick, Rooster makes his way back to look for him but is ultimately killed in the process. They engage in combat with other hostile pilots, but Hangman comes to their rescue just as they are about to lose the battle due to a lack of ammunition.

Rooster and Hangman come to have a newfound respect for one another, and Rooster's friendship with Maverick becomes significantly stronger. Penny, an ex-girlfriend of Maverick's, becomes reacquainted with him.

My reviews and why I like this movie:

Even though Tom Cruise probably never served in the Navy as a pilot in real life, he does an excellent job of portraying the role in this film. In point of fact, it's possible that this is Tom Cruise's greatest film, since it features both dramatic battle scenes and a passionate love story between the character Maverick (Tom Cruise) and Charlien (Kelly McGilis). This movie is one of my favourites since it teaches us many valuable lessons about leadership that we can use in our everyday lives, plus the movie itself is quite good.
