
The Washington Wizards is the most named team in the NBA. In 1946, the NBA Approved Baltimore to form an NBA team, the bullet team, from a nearby weapons foundry. But the team was soon disbanded. Then the Chicago packers, later the Chicago Zephyr, moved to Baltimore. In 1963, they changed the name of the team to the bullets. In 1974, the Baltimore Bullets moved to Washington and changed their name to Washington bullets. In 1996, the team’s owner, Ernst Abbe Borin, decided to adopt a name that did not carry a symbol of violence, after being accused of being violent. On May 15,1997, after a fan vote, the wizards were voted out of the three finalists
