When we communicate with others, we naturally want to be understood and heard. However, sometimes the other person may not seem to value our words or opinions, which can be frustrating and discouraging. In such situations, it can be tempting to try to explain ourselves repeatedly, hoping to finally get our point across. But if someone consistently fails to value our words, it may be time to step back and reassess the situation.

First, it's important to recognize that not everyone will value our words or agree with us. People come from different backgrounds, have different experiences, and hold different beliefs, and that's okay. We don't have to convince everyone to see things our way. It's important to remember that our words have value, regardless of whether others recognize it or not.

Second, continually explaining ourselves to someone who doesn't value our words can be exhausting and time-consuming. We may find ourselves repeating the same points over and over again, and still not getting through to the other person. This can leave us feeling frustrated, resentful, and unheard.

Instead of expending energy on trying to convince someone who doesn't value our words, we can focus on communicating with those who do. We can seek out people who are willing to listen to our perspectives, who ask questions to better understand us, and who respect our opinions even if they don't always agree with them. By redirecting our energy towards those who value us, we can feel more supported, validated, and heard.

In summary, if someone consistently fails to value our words, it's important to recognize that we don't have to convince everyone to see things our way. Continually explaining ourselves can be exhausting and unproductive, so instead, we can focus on communicating with those who do value us. By doing so, we can feel more supported and heard, and our words can have a greater impact.
