๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿšจ Axie Infinity Takes $625M Ronin Hack Responsibility

Apr 12, 2022 11:24 AM

Ethereum sidechain Ronin, where play-to-earn blockchain game Axie Infinity runs, had been hacked for over US$600 million in crypto, making it one of the biggest hacks in crypto history. A top executive at the company behind play-to-earn game Axie Infinity apologized for security lapses that cost users $625 million in what may have been the biggest DeFi hack ever.

However, while the accountability is appreciated, it wonโ€™t be able to replace the $625 million investors lost during the hack. But the company is doing its best to reimburse its investors and even managed to raise $150 million in funds to compensate for the loss.

Regardless, the panic that spread throughout AXS investors since that night is worsening as the coin continues to lose value not only in terms of price but also as an investment option due to the receding market value of the same.
