Former Pakistan captain reveals reasons behind Babar Azam's recent struggle
Salman Butt's analysis sheds light on the unique challenges faced by Babar Azam amidst his recent struggles. It is evident that Babar's exceptional talent and consistency have set a high standard for his performance, making any dip in form more noticeable and subject to scrutiny. As Salman Butt mentioned, Babar's previous success and the reliance on him as Pakistan's top batter magnify the impact of his current rough patch. Unlike in the past when other players could compensate for one player's struggle, Babar's centrality in the team's batting lineup now places a heavier burden on him to deliver consistently.
I think Salman's observation underscores the importance of team dynamics and support structures in cricket. While Babar Azam's individual brilliance is undeniable, the lack of significant contributions from other players during his lean phase amplifies the criticism and pressure on him. The comparison to past eras where multiple players could step up to secure victories highlights the need for a more balanced team performance to alleviate the burden on key players like Babar.
