Zalmi win by brilliant performance of Baber

Greetings to all INDFAM family,

Today I want to discuss on the psl match between Peshawar zalmi and Karachi Kings. Zalmi have won a humdinger here. They have won by 2 runs against the Kings. Kings weren't able to finish on a high. They won a close game against Lahore a couple of nights back but tonight wasn't to be. Anwar Ali tried his best alongside Irfan, who played a blinder. But 17 off the final over was a little too much. Aamer Jamal also held his nerves and bowled a couple of superb balls to clinch it for the Zalmi side. With this win, the Peshawar unit finish on 13 points. They go to the top of the table as well and have confirmed a top two finish.

The Peshawar Zalmi is one of the top two sides and will have an extra shot at the silverware if the need arises. They have confirmed it with a win tonight. Babar Azam once again led with the bat. He batted a little slowly in the middle overs but the wicket wasn't an easy one to bat on. It hasn't been an easy campaign for the Kings as they exit with a loss. We will exit as well.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH

We were not expecting it would be so soft and it would turn so much. We were looking for 150-160. Not easy to play spinners here. Never expected the wicket to turn so much. Generally, the wicket here is very good. As a player, you have some goals. You want to play well and improve as much as you can. I try to improve every day. My focus is on team's needs. Credit to the boys. The bowling was outstanding. Ayub bowled very well. He created the impact and put pressure on Karachi batters. The youngsters are doing well. We will look not to repeat our mistakes in the powerplay

This gives them two chances in case they lose their first play-off game. The chase was never supposed to be easy but Seifert provided Karachi with an excellent start. Even when Malik and Irfan were batting, it seemed Karachi were favorites. But Naveen removed Malik and then the Zalmi side managed to eke out a win as Pollard also came a cropper today.

As per the pitch demand, I would especially like to praise Saeem (Ayub) even though he is not a real spinner but he made an impact and that is the beauty of PSL when youngsters perform well. We will try not to repeat the mistakes in the playoffs. I planned to bowl today, warmed up but didn't get a chance. Both the teams were engaged in a fierce battle in search of victory. PSL 9 offered another exciting contest as Karachi Kings looked to end the tournament on a high and Peshawar Zalmi were determined to finish in the top two. This is the least defense Karachi has ever seen so credit to Zalmi for holding his nerve and stepping up in the big moments.
