An astronaut becomes stranded on Mars after his team assume him dead, and must rely on his ingenuity to find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive and can survive until a potential rescue.
Brilliant to watch
Ridley Scott is known for bringing "Alien" and "Bladerunner" to the large screen. Both have huge followings and both are amazing for his or her time once they were made. Now with "The Martian" he brings a good sci-fi film to us but one with a wholly different mood--so much so it's hard to believe it's from this famed filmmaker! Why? Because the mood is most more positive and upbeat--and it is a film that leaves you content...something you may never say about the opposite movies!
As far as what I liked about the film and what I disliked, I'll make it easy--especially since there are already numerous reviews for the movie. What I liked was everything and that i hated nothing. there's nothing i might have done differently...and that's something I almost never can say. this is often a really intelligent, crowd-pleasing quality picture from start to complete and you ought to see it on the large screen if you'll be able to. Yes, it's THAT good!
