Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018)

Ashwat Raina and his teammates arrive in Pokhran to re-conduct a confidential nuclear test, where they face challenges from the American Lacrosse satellite and local spies. Source  Brilliant  Despite the intricacies of the subject at hand, filmmakers have delivered a thoroughly entertaining uncomplicated gripping thriller with enough light moments to stay the audience captivated. The grandiose vision, acute attention to detail required for a period film, fast-paced screenplay, Hollywoodesque CGI and a breath-stopping final act that ends literally with an enormous bang!Abhishek Sharma of Tere Osama bin Laden fame has delivered a winner here crammed with patriotism, some bollywood masala, Argo quite ending & a good little bit of Vajpayee ji. Another path breaking film from the toilet Abraham Production House post Vicky Donor and Madras Cafe! Boman Irani is that the finest actor within the country, John Abraham is wonderful and also the support cast fits in perfectly!A story revealing Indian history's best-kept secret, that needed to be told! it's imperative that we encourage and watch good films like Parmanu in theatres in India, else we are going to still be served some trash Friday after Friday. The movie will resonate with every Indian & all movie-goers will leave the theatre engulfed with national pride!! Rahul jakhar

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013)

The truth behind the ascension of Milkha Singh, who was scarred by of the India-Pakistan partition. Source  Inspirational  Few critics, few including Rediff ones whom I explore for some good writing, have rated low to BMB. the rationale they furnish is that movie lacks coherence and clarity. Really? i believe they ought to only rate Hollywood movies because whoever thinks this movie isn't any good doesn't know what Hindi cinema is. Farhan has done an awesome job, and if I say awesome then it's not for his physique and dialogue delivery except for the transformation, he has gone to become Milkha Singh. We as an audience witness the physical stress and labor that an athlete as likes of Milkha Singh undergo to become a 'flying Sikh'. Hindi cinema celebrates the lifetime of this living legend with songs and drama and music. Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra has done a good job, still; I fell he could have done plenty better especially within the scenes of Milkha's childhood memories. His attempt of giving the movie an epic convention seriously affected the narrative portion. However, all this could be sided by the grandeur of Farhan's effort. i'd wish to mention a press release of 1 of the rediff users who wrote against critics who are undermining the effect of this movie: "note that 400mtrs could be a very difficult race to run. it's at the border of quick races and long jogs. after partition India didn't have either the experience nor the infra to provide runners for 400mtrs. So Milkha was a real champion in every sense. If critics pull films like these down for abstract reasons ? we will forever have 20 goons flying within the air with one punch from one man. grow old critics." Rahul

The Hateful Eight (2015)

In the dead of a Wyoming winter, a bounty hunter and his prisoner find shelter in a cabin currently inhabited by a collection of nefarious characters. Source  Marvelous  I never saw this film back when it had been released in 2015. But, I did manage to shop fora duplicate of Blu-Ray. Now, after I first saw it, i believed this movie was flawless/perfect. I now know that no movie despite what anyone may say, is perfect. But i'm firm believer that this can be after all Quinton Tarantino's most underrated and under-appreciated film. Everyone I've talked to, says the Hateful Eight isn't Tarantino's most re-watchable film. I disagree. With an exceptional cast that basically gets into their characters. all stands out and not one is forgetful. Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell are the celebrities of this film and it shows. Their performances (in my opinion) were Oscar worthy. Don't even get me started on the story. this can be basically a Who-Done-It play changed into a movie. The complexity of this story should make the audience feel confused and switch their heads going, "what the hell is happening?". But it does the precise opposite. Everything flows perfectly. The pacing of this film, while it's almost 3 hours, it doesn't want it. The cinematography is great. The score brings tension and makes the audience uneasy. But i feel my favorite thing of this film, is that the scenery. Having these 8 characters who all hate one another, trapped by a blizzard. Really builds up the stress of the catastrophe that's coming. the sole thing that's working against this film is that the lengthy setup shots at the start of the movie. the primary five minutes of the film is full of it and people tend to tug on. Beyond that, everything about this film is great. RΔHUL JΔҜHΔR
