Sarfarosh (1999) is an Indian action drama film written and directed by John Matthew Matthan; starring Aamir Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Sonali Bendre. The film was critically praised and was commercially successful at the box office.  

Lagaan (2001) is an Indian epic sports-drama film written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Aamir Khan, who was also the producer, stars with Gracy Singh in the lead roles; British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne play the supporting roles. Made on a then-unprecedented budget of 250 million.  

Dil Chahta Hai (2001) is an Indian comedy-drama film written and directed by Farhan Akhtar. Starring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni, and Dimple Kapadia. The movie was a super hit as the blend of humor, emotion, sincerity, and wisdom makes it a truly enduring film.

Rang De Basanti (2006 ) is an Indian drama film written and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. It features an ensemble cast comprising Aamir Khan, Siddharth Narayan, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni and British actress Alice Patten in the lead roles.   

Fanaa (2006) is an Indian romantic crime drama film, directed by Kunal Kohli. The film stars Aamir Khan in an anti-hero role, Kajol as his blind love interest, and Rishi Kapoor, Tabu and Sharat Saxena in pivotal roles.   

Taare Zameen Par (2007) is an Indian drama film directed by Aamir Khan. Darsheel Safary stars as 8-year-old Ishaan, and Khan plays his art teacher. Creative director and writer Amole Gupte initially developed the idea with Deepa Bhatia, who served as the film’s editor.  

Ghajini (2008) is an Indian Hindi-language psychological thriller film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss. It stars Aamir Khan, Asin and Jiah Khan in lead roles while Tinnu Anand, Pradeep Rawat and Riyaz Khan essay supporting roles. It became the highest-grossing Indian film of that year.  

3 Idiots (2009) is an Indian coming of age comedy drama film co-written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It was inspired by the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat. The film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Omi Vaidya, Parikshit Sahni, and Boman Irani. The film was listed in Guinness World Records for the record of highest box office film gross for a Bollywood film.  

PK (2014) is an Indian satirical science fiction comedy film directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film stars Aamir Khan in the title role with Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Saurabh Shukla, and Sanjay Dutt in supporting roles. The film emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.   

Dangal (2016) is an Indian Hindi-language biographical sports drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. It stars Aamir Khan along with Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra while Sakshi Tanwar and Aparshakti Khurana play the supporting cast.
