NI news: no protest zones to be here by the end of this week

In Northern Ireland we will finally have no-protest zones in place by the end of this week at 8 healthcare locations which provide lawful abortions or support/counselling or informational services regarding abortion. 

The zones will prevent women from being harrassed by, until now, predominantly Christian groups offering "prayer" (harrassment) when attending healthcare settings to have their abortion. The zones will also protect staff who have also faced criticism and abuse since the decriminalisation of some abortion services in Northern Ireland in 2019. 

This is great news to protect these women at an already potentially upsetting and vulnerable time. Now we just need to see services expanded further and made more accessible to women across the country.
