The suffragettes fight for womens :

Let me tell you about the suffragettes. They were a group of brave women who fought for womens  right to vote in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They faced many challenges and opposition  but they never gave up.

One of the most well known suffragettes was Emmeline Pankhurst. She was a British political activist who founded the Womens Social and Political Union  WSPU The WSPU used peaceful protests  as well as more radical tactics like hunger strikes and civil disobedience to demand women's suffrage.

The suffragettes faced harsh treatment from the authorities. Many of them were arrested, imprisoned and even force fed while on hunger strikes. But their determination and sacrifice brought attention to the cause and helped pave the way for women's right to vote.

In 1918  the Representation of the People Act was passed in the UK  granting the right to vote to women over the age of 30 who met certain property qualifications. It was not until 1928 that women in the UK were granted equal voting rights with men.
