I was reading the story feon the early 20th century there was a group of courageous women known as suffragettes. They fought tirelessly for women's right to vote.

One of the most prominent suffragettes was Emmeline Pankhurst from the United Kingdom. She founded the Womens  Social and Political Union a militant organization that used protests, hunger strikes, and civil disobedience to demand voting rights for women.

Despite facing arrests  imprisonment, and public ridicule  these women never gave up. Their activism and determination eventually led to significant progress in women's suffrage.

In 1918 the Representation of the People Act was passed in the UK granting voting rights to women over the age of 30. It was not until 1928 that women gained equal voting rights with men.
