Music π§I'm reminded about this song as I was saying here that I saw Blink 182 live in Dublin on the last night of their European tour right before their haitus. In the car on the long drive home that night I cried and thought to myself, "the tour was over, i'd survived". I was 15 (I think π€) and I waited so long for it and thought it was such a big deal, I didn't know what will happen after I finally saw the band. What would I do with my life next.. π€ I sort of laugh now, that is how you know you learnt some perspective later in life. Something might seem big now, but in a few months or few years you're like π€·ββοΈ We have a saying in my house, "it's a bad day, not a bad life". And sometimes it's a lot of bad days, but many days is not a lifetime, and not worth throwing away.
It was always rumoured the song was written after a kid called Adam killed himself and his mom found a letter with these references. I think the saddest part is "please tell mom this is not her fault" π₯ But when you really listen, Adam didn't kill himself, he survived and had hope for the future. There is a switch from past tense to present/future "tomorrow holds such better days. Days when I could still feel alive, when I can't wait to get outside, the world is wide". π«Ά
Also, shame on you if you don't know the Nirvana reference πMar 22, 2024

Music π§Guys, i'm here π If you know me on BBS then you know I have a special place for music communities and love to come and share now and then.
Best of luck that this will be the one to break the glass ceiling here on BBS ππ
But I wanted to come share the news if you didn't hear yet that Blink 182 have a new album coming out October 20th and like every single one of their previous albums it is going to be absolutely fucking lit. π₯
Here is the preview π
The first single is One More Time and was released on Thursday. If you're a Blink 182 fan, I guess you used to grab the tissues for another reason πΆ but this one will grab you in another way π₯²π’
I shared like a thousand times before I have this connection with music and grief, so some of you won't be surprised that is how I relate this. But this song hits me hard.
I lost someone really close last year. It was really unexpected, and it wasn't until they were gone that I realised I never once in my life told them I loved them. It sounds crazy, because I did love them, they knew it, and I knew they loved me.. but it wasn't something we ever said. I know I never needed to say it, that was the special part π but in a way I regret that a lot because now I just have to scream it at their grave each time I visit and it's not quite the same. π€·ββοΈ
I miss you, took time but I admit it
It still hurts even after all these years
And I know that next time, ainβt always gonna happen
I gotta say I love you while weβre here
Do I have to die to hear you miss me
Do I have to die to hear you say goodbye
I donβt want to act like thereβs tomorrow
I donβt want to wait to do this one more time
Don't wait for bad things to happen to do the things you want to do when bad things happen π€Sep 23, 2023
