Lactose Intolerance :

A condition that results from the inability to digest the milk sugar ( Lactose) characterized by bloating gas, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea.

Lactose Intolerance offers milk allergy which is caused by immune reaction to protein in milk 🥛

What is Lactose ???

Lactose is the sugar found in milk called as milk sugar

Symptoms of Lactose Intolerance :

  • Weakness
  • Abdominal discomfort
  • Diarrhea
  • Bloating

Maintaining Lactose Intolerance requires some dietary Strategies because totally elimination of milk 🥛 Is not good and it is avoided

Reasons for not eliminating of milk from diet :

For one reason it is not necessary to skip milk from diet 😜 because many people with lactose intolerance can consume foods containing UpTo 6 Grams of lactose ( equal to 1/2 cup milk ) in a day without symptoms .

For 2nd reason is that milk and milk products are a major source of several nutrients _ notably calcium, potassium, vitamin D __ that are hard to get from other sources .

8 Dietary Strategies :

1:  For people who can tolerate some lactose, the successful way is to start from very low lactose diet and then gradually increase the intakes of lactose containing foods.

2:  Consume Lactose with other foods in the meal .

3:  Spread the intake of lactose in the whole day like taking half cup milk but divide it into 3 times a day make you to take 2,3 sip of milk at one time .

4: Fermented Milk 🥛 products such as yogurt are good options for inclusion in such a diet 😜. The bacteria in these products digest Lactose for their own use ,thus reducing the lactose content while leaving behind nutrients that are crucial to obtain.

5:  Take pasteurized Yogurt (Without Live bacteria) , which has same amount of lactose as milk but produces fewer symptoms than other milk products.

6:  Hard cheese 🧀, such as cheddar 🧀 cheese cottage cheese Maybe well tolerated because most of the lactose is removed from them with the whey during manufacturing process . Aged cheese 🧀 are good choice as lactose content diminishes as the cheese ages

7:  Another good Choice is commercially prepared Milk products that are lactose free . These lactose free products are treated with an enzyme that breaks down the lactose.

8:  Alternatively, people may take enzyme tablets with the meals or add enzyme drops to milk . The enzyme hydrolyzes much of the lactose in milk to glucose and galactose which lactose _intolerant people can absorb without I'll effects .

This is all about it. Hope you guys this will be a learning thing for you and maybe new for you 🤠. Tell your opinions in comment section
