Very beautiful clouds.. ☁️

🙋‍♂️Hi friends.. About a year ago I noticed this very interesting phenomenon in the sky near my place of residence..

❓Today I asked a question what could have caused it on Twitter:

👽So gravity waves, aliens, or Kelvin–Helmholtz instability?? First ly I wanted to bet on aliens, becouse when I turned 90 degrees to the north, there was this cloud:

🤭Ok, you got me.. It wasn't the same day but captured from the same place..

☁️Now little bit more seriously.. What is Kelvin–Helmholtz clouds??

These clouds look like waves in the ocean crashing on the shore. They were named after the German physicist Hermann von Helmholtz and the British physicist Lord Kelvin.They are formed when 2 different layers of air pass at different speeds. In this case, the upper layer moves faster than the lower one. The boundary between the air masses begins to moisten, possibly creating larger waves...
