If 3 of your players were sent off during a match, how many players would you have left playing? For Getaffe it was 9 and not 8.

Getaffe is a small La Liga side that has the dubious honor being the European big 5 league team that has the most players sent off this season. 8 of their players were sent off including 3 in the game against Rayo

  The funny thing is that they still had 9 players playing after the 3rd send off. How did this situation come about?  The 3rd player sent off, Damian Suarez, had already received a yellow card when he was substituted by Alderette. At that time Getaffe was trialing 0-2. 

The referee was not happy that Suarez was walking off the pitch too slowly and gave him a yellow card for time wasting. As it was his 2nd yellow card, it was deemed that he was sent off. As Alderez had already replaced him before his "sending off" Alderez was allowed to continue playing. 

What a crazy situation created by the referee - sending off a player that has already been substituted. 😃😄

The Getaffe player that was sent off before Suarez was a player on loan from Manchester United to Getaffe, Mason Greenwood. 

Looking at the video of the match, it is not clear why Greenwood was given the first red card of his career. Later it was disclosed that he had used the F word in something he said. 

Greenwood scored 3 goals and made 4 assists out of his 15 appearances for Getaffe. Because of his impressive performance, Getaffe are interested in getting him permanently and there are also bigger La Liga teams that are interested in him. 

The problem for Getaffe is that they may be too small a side to afford him. There is a roll on clause in the loan agreement that if MU sell him to another side, Getaffe will get 20% of the transfer fee. 

Greenwood's contract with MU runs till 2025. He is a young (22 years) talented player who has played well for MU and scored 35 goals for them. 

Why did MU not keep such a player but loaned him to Getaffe? He was accused of rape and sexual assault. The charges which Greenwood denies has been dropped and MU tried to put him back in their squad but there was great public outcry. 

This season why MU is doing so badly losing 9 out of 20 EPL matches is because of their inability to score goals. Only the bottom 2 teams in the EPL, Sheffield United with 15 goals and Burnley with 20 goals has less goals than the 22 goals of MU. 

None of the current MU players has been outstanding this season. Their top scorer, McTominay has 5 goals while 3 other players (B Fernandez, M Rashford, & A Garnacho) has 3 each. The rest of the 8 goals were scored by 8 players with 1 goal each. 

The lack of a deadly goal scorer for MU is clear when the top scorer of both Liverpool and Manchester City have 14 goals each this season. 

Surely Greenwood will be a good addition to their strike force. A combination of Rashford (just recovering from injury) on the left and Garnacho transferred to the left as was done recently and Garnacho scored a brace together with Greenwood as a central striker may be what MU needs. 

Will Jim Ratcliffe try to persuade the public to accept Greenwood (all the rape and sexual assault charges has been dropped).? 

Since Greenwood is already contracted with MU until 2025, they do not have to buy him. They can have him back once the  loan agreement with Getaffe expires at the end of this season.
