After winning its last 4 consecutive EPL matches, MU has made it to be placed 6th in the EPL table. Qualifying for next year's Champions League or at least the Europa League is a real possibility instead of being unlikely.
Based on the the results of the current top 6 teams they seems to be 2 tiers : Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City contesting for the EPL title. Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United contesting for 4th and 5th placing.
The 4th placed team gets to play in next year's Champions League while the 5th placed team will get to play in the Europa League. Both these European competitions are lucrative financially whereas the 6th placed EPL team gets to play in the 3rd tier competition, UEFA Conference League. The Conference League is not prestigious and does not pay well financially. 🦋
Although the recent performance of MU is commendable, there is vast difference between MU and the current top 3 EPL teams.
MU is lacking in both attacking and defensive abilities compared with them.
MU currently has scored 35 goals and conceded 34 giving it a goal difference of just 1.
The average number of goals scored by Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City is 58 while the average number of goals conceded is 24. Their average goal difference is a massive 32 compared to MU's teeny Winnie 1 😭
Although the amount of goals conceded by Villa and Tottenham are comparable with that of MU, they scored 52 goals each giving them a vastly superior goal difference compared to MU.
With Sir Jim Ratcliffe becoming a substantial shareholder, more funds may be made available to acquire players.
There is a player that MU can use to increase its firepower without having to buy. The player is already signed by MU but they are not using him.
This player is now on loan to Getafe. In the 21 matches he has played for Getafe, he contributed 10 - scoring 5 and making the assist for the other 5. He is one of Getafe's most important players.
The player that I refer to is Mason Greenwood and the reason why MU is not using him is told in
The success of Greenwood in Getafe is sending a message to Sir Jim to consider reinstating Greenwood into MU.
As a public figure who may be role model for his admirers, Greenwood should act responsibly.
As an immature teenager when the incident happened, Greenwood is not without fault.
Has he already paid the price by being loaned to Getafe?
Should he be given a second chance to succeed with MU?.
As an ambitious player who has one cap for England, he would like more. The best chance for him to catch the eye of England selectors is if he were playing for an EPL team.
MU does not want him to help a competitor in the EPL and so he was loaned to a Spanish team. MU is unlikely to agree to a transfer directly to another EPL team.
However if Greenwood is transfered to a non EPL team first, he may eventually end up with an EPL team.
MU may regret letting him go if he helps another EPL team succeed including in matches against MU.
iF IT WAS UP TO YOU, WILL YOU LET GREENWOOD REJOIN MU?
