Vikings is, without a doubt, my all-time favorite television series. I believe it surpasses even the highly acclaimed Game of Thrones, which I also happen to love.

There's just something about Vikings that sets it apart from any other show, making it a must-watch for everyone, including your friends and family. It's simply the greatest of all time, and I'm not exaggerating. From the first four seasons, Vikings is a true masterpiece. Unfortunately, the quality does decline a bit starting from season five, but even then, it's still a great show that should not be missed.

Here's why.First and foremost, the characters in the first season are flawless. Though they may seem simple at first, it's their likable and relatable personalities, as well as their character development throughout the seasons, that make them perfect. Ragnar Lothbrok, the legendary protagonist played by an underrated actor, is the equivalent of Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean.

When he eventually dies, the show just isn't the same. Ragnar is a cool and charismatic Viking who is also funny, wise, and tough. He starts off as a simple farmer but gradually becomes the most famous and notorious Viking King that Norway has ever known. He leads raids across England and France, unites the Viking people in a way they've never been united before, and becomes a legend. However, this fame and notoriety come at a great cost, and Ragnar has to make many sacrifices and face the consequences of his decisions.

This complexity and vulnerability make him an incredibly relatable character, and at times, you can't help but wonder if you've made the wrong life choices yourself.Lagertha, a strong and faithful female character, is also one to admire for all female viewers. Her chemistry with Ragnar is so genuine and believable that you might even think the actors are together in real life. Rollo, on the other hand, has a fantastic traitor arc. When he's loyal, you can't help but like him, but when he betrays Ragnar, you hate him, although you still understand his motives. The rest of the characters are equally well-developed and add depth to the story. In conclusion, Vikings is a must-watch for any fan of historical dramas, action, and complex characters. While the later seasons may not be as strong as the first four, the show as a whole is still a masterpiece that should not be missed. Whether you're a fan of Vikings or not, give it a chance, and you'll see why it's considered the GOAT.
