Vikings | Ragnar and Lagertha | Romantic Scene

Vikings is, without a doubt, my all-time favorite television series. I believe it surpasses even the highly acclaimed Game of Thrones, which I also happen to love. There's just something about Vikings that sets it apart from any other show, making it a must-watch for everyone, including your friends and family. It's simply the greatest of all time, and I'm not exaggerating. From the first four seasons, Vikings is a true masterpiece. Unfortunately, the quality does decline a bit starting from season five, but even then, it's still a great show that should not be missed. Here's why.First and foremost, the characters in the first season are flawless. Though they may seem simple at first, it's their likable and relatable personalities, as well as their character development throughout the seasons, that make them perfect. Ragnar Lothbrok, the legendary protagonist played by an underrated actor, is the equivalent of Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. When he eventually dies, the show just isn't the same. Ragnar is a cool and charismatic Viking who is also funny, wise, and tough. He starts off as a simple farmer but gradually becomes the most famous and notorious Viking King that Norway has ever known. He leads raids across England and France, unites the Viking people in a way they've never been united before, and becomes a legend. However, this fame and notoriety come at a great cost, and Ragnar has to make many sacrifices and face the consequences of his decisions. This complexity and vulnerability make him an incredibly relatable character, and at times, you can't help but wonder if you've made the wrong life choices yourself.Lagertha, a strong and faithful female character, is also one to admire for all female viewers. Her chemistry with Ragnar is so genuine and believable that you might even think the actors are together in real life. Rollo, on the other hand, has a fantastic traitor arc. When he's loyal, you can't help but like him, but when he betrays Ragnar, you hate him, although you still understand his motives. The rest of the characters are equally well-developed and add depth to the story. In conclusion, Vikings is a must-watch for any fan of historical dramas, action, and complex characters. While the later seasons may not be as strong as the first four, the show as a whole is still a masterpiece that should not be missed. Whether you're a fan of Vikings or not, give it a chance, and you'll see why it's considered the GOAT.

The Last Samurai Official Trailer #1 - (2003) HD

The Last Samurai is undoubtedly the most poetic film I have ever had the pleasure of watching. This epic action drama not only captivates with its stunning visuals, but also engages the audience on an emotional level, leaving no stone unturned in its quest to evoke a range of powerful emotions. Tom Cruise delivers an impressive performance, stepping into a role that is vastly different from his usual repertoire. He may once again be seen as an action hero, but this time, there is a distinct difference in the way he portrays his character. Ken Watanabe steals the show with his portrayal of a well-written character that is sure to be loved by audiences. While the rest of the cast also delivers strong performances, it is these two men who truly shine and carry the film on their shoulders. The action sequences are expertly crafted, featuring sword fights, epic battles, and martial arts fights that are larger than life and leave a lasting impact. The dialogues are philosophical and thought-provoking, adding depth and meaning to the film. However, the true highlight of the film is the soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. It is a masterpiece that not only complements the film perfectly, but also stays with the audience long after the end credits have rolled. It is a testament to the film's quality and adds an extra layer of emotion to the action scenes and emotional moments. This film is driven by its characters rather than its plot, so do not expect any twists and turns or heavy plot development. Instead, sit back and enjoy the character drama, the impactful dialogues, the powerful soundtrack, and the exhilarating action. It is a film that will stay with you long after you have watched it, and one that I will never forget. I highly recommend it to all viewers.

Black list series

My initial hesitation towards watching “The Blacklist” stemmed from my fear that it would be just another generic FBI-based crime show. However, after finally watching the first episode, I was proven wrong and immediately hooked. “The Blacklist” stands out as one of the top crime dramas on television, with its unconventional yet believable premise. The crimes depicted in the series are unlike anything you would encounter in real life, which adds to its captivating nature. Each episode presents a new case for the task force, each one unique and guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat. The intricacy of the show will leave you wondering, “Could this actually happen in the real world?” Some of the events may seem outlandish, but they all contribute to the overarching, ever-evolving plot that is addicting. James Spader is the heart and soul of “The Blacklist”. With his captivating performance, there is never a dull moment. Spader effortlessly balances wit, charm, and charisma with a hint of insidiousness. His love for “Lizzy” (Elizabeth Keen) is evident, even though he keeps his guard up, adding a softer side to his character at just the right moments. It takes time to get to know the entire cast of “The Blacklist”, but the gripping plotline leads you through their character development. Once they become integral parts of the show, it’s impossible not to love them. Each member plays a distinctive role, and their passion for their work is palpable. The show continues to draw in viewers every week with its new and thrilling storylines. It all begins when Raymond Reddington (James Spader), the 4th most wanted criminal in the world, surrenders himself to the FBI and offers to provide them with a list of highly dangerous criminals in exchange for immunity. However, he insists on speaking only with Agent Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone), adding a mysterious twist to the already intriguing plot.

Money Heist

Money Heist is an incredible TV show that completely blew me away. It is a perfect blend of mind games and strategies that will leave you in awe. If you are a fan of heist movies and love watching clever plans unfold, then this show is a must-see. You will never get bored while binge-watching it. What's even more exciting is how the show portrays the balance between intelligence and emotions. The characters are complex and well-developed, and their real names are only revealed gradually, adding to the mystery. The twists and turns in the plot are mind-blowing, and the acting of the heist gang members is so convincing, it feels like you are watching a real-life heist. The show manages to be both believable and unbelievable at the same time, making it all the more intriguing. The pacing of the show is perfect, keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout. The strategies and plans devised by the Professor are genius and will give you goosebumps. It's impressive how he always has everything figured out beforehand. The show also takes us back to the classroom, where the Professor explains his plans, adding another layer of depth to the story. The casting for the Professor is spot-on, and you will fall in love with each and every character, especially Berlin. His mastermind tactics and unwavering demeanor make him a fan favorite. Even though he is a criminal, you can't help but admire him. The show's execution is flawless, and the writer has expertly played with the audience's emotions. You will find yourself rooting for the robbers, even though you know what they are doing is wrong. This is a testament to the brilliant writing and character development. Money Heist is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted plot, complex characters, and mind-blowing twists. It's no wonder it keeps getting better and better with each season. Kudos to the writer for creating such a masterpiece.

Terminator

A lot of closure at the end of this filmI had the opportunity to watch Terminator Dark Fate at the Enfield IMAX, which is smaller than the ones in central London but also much more affordable. Just to clarify, this is a non-spoiler review, but I will be mentioning some notes on the visual effects and production. The good news is that I found this sequel to be quite thrilling and thoroughly enjoyable. As a self-proclaimed Terminator fan, all my friends know how much I love the original film. However, T2 Judgment Day is undoubtedly one of the greatest sequels of all time and set the bar for action films and visual effects after its release in 1991. For me personally, every sequel that followed T2 has been a bitter disappointment. The only one that had some redeeming qualities in terms of action and story was Salvation. I have to admit, I was quite critical of Tim Miller, despite loving his work on Dead Pool. When I saw the first trailer for Dark Fate, I thought he had made another misfire like Genysis. However, he has proven me wrong and broken the curse of terrible sequels in this franchise. Now, I don't want to get too ahead of myself with this review. While this film is definitely the third best in the franchise, it doesn't come close to the brilliance of the first two films. However, it is a solid sequel, and my interest was solely due to Linda Hamilton's return. But I must say, the entire cast is on point, and even Arnold is back in top form. However, the standout performance for me was Mackenzie Davis as Grace, a resistance footsoldier. The new target, Natalia Reyes as Dani Ramos, is also quite good, but Gabriel Luna gives his best as the new villain, the Rev 9. He does a great job, but he falls short in comparison to Robert Patrick's iconic performance as the T-1000. Tim Miller shows his mastery in directing action films and pacing. As someone who used to work in visual effects, it's not surprising that the majority of the effects work in this film is excellent and well-rendered. However, there are a few instances where it falls short, but I found it forgivable considering the amount of visual effects used in the film.In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. However, I understand that the new story, which was co-written by James Cameron, may not be for everyone. Without giving away too much, I will say that there is a lot of closure in this film, which may be polarizing for some viewers.

Troy 2004 best forever

This movie does not receive the appreciation it deserves from critics, but I highly recommend taking the time to give it a 5-star rating. It is unfortunate that the critics cannot see the powerful and well-crafted classical drama that seamlessly justifies its budget through simple yet compelling story telling. The standout performances in this film are often overlooked due to critics' narrow-mindedness. Hector's character is a brilliant portrayal of a good man navigating power and conflicting relationships, while Brad Pitt's character adds a unique flavor to the story. These two characters, on opposite sides, are just a small part of a film with a strong plot and fantastic setup. The film effortlessly tackles themes such as honor and the role of gods, leaving the audience to ponder their own interpretations rather than being spoon-fed by the director. Visually, the film is breathtaking, with its limited locations creating a sense of homeliness that allows for a more intimate viewing experience. The presence of Peter O'Toole only adds to the sense that we are in the hands of a film that understands the key elements of a great classical narrative, as well as modern cinematic spectacle. The film fearlessly combines ambitious action scenes with a deep understanding of the source material. While some may argue that there are elements missing from the film, it is important to recognize that these additions would fundamentally change the story and detract from its overall impact. This film takes the essence of a timeless story and makes it accessible to a modern audience without any pretentiousness. In many ways, the filmmakers' approach is more sophisticated than those who believe that classical literature must be kept on a pedestal. The Illiad itself is a perfect blend of grand themes, excitement, and intrigue, and this film does it justice.

INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS

To begin with, this movie may not appeal to everyone, and that's alright. However, I will explain why I found it so enjoyable. The setting is expertly portrayed and completely immerses you into the authentic world of the story. As a fan of American folk scenes, I appreciate the attention to detail that brings the setting to life. Isaac's character is based on Dave Van Ronk, and the inclusion of small Ronk details, like the captain's license and road trip, adds a sense of realism to the character. The Gaslight Cafe and the manager he visits on his road trip were both real. The manager even mentions a folk trio he is putting together, which turns out to be Peter, Paul, & Mary. The songs performed in the film were also popular at the time. To top it off, Bob Dylan makes an appearance at the end. These details create a realistic depiction of the setting while focusing on a mostly fictional story. What makes the film even more authentic is the lack of romanticization. The world is portrayed as dirty, corrupt, and unforgiving. None of the characters are perfect (in fact, most are quite flawed), which is a reflection of how the real world works. The struggles of being an artist are shown without any glamorous embellishments. This blatant portrayal of reality is melancholic and depressing, but it doesn't resort to over dramatization like many other films. As another reviewer mentioned, there are no emotional monologues or unrealistic plot twists. The film stays true to its realistic approach. It reminded me of the works of Wim Wenders and Eric Rhomer, who also create raw and unapologetic films. This movie does not follow the traditional hero's journey, it lacks a fulfilling plot, and the characters are not necessarily likeable. As some of the lower ratings suggest, it may not have the elements commonly found in western media. However, this is what sets it apart and makes it a thought-provoking and refreshing watch. It is a reminder that real life is not always neatly packaged with a happy ending. This film may not be for everyone, but for those who appreciate a raw and unflinching portrayal of reality, it is a must-watch.

Oppenheimer 2023

To be frank, even though Christopher Nolan is one of my top, if not my favorite, directors, I was initially hesitant when I learned that his next project would be Oppenheimer, a drama/biography genre he had not explored before. I was uncertain about how this film would turn out and avoided getting caught up in the hype surrounding it. HOWEVER, after watching the film, I realize that my skepticism was unfounded and I now have a newfound admiration and respect for Nolan's work. Oppenheimer was an exceptional film! Despite its nearly three-hour runtime, I was amazed by how the film maintained a brisk pace throughout. The intensity never waned and it felt like a ticking time bomb, constantly building towards something greater. Ludwig Göransson's flawless soundtrack played a crucial role in keeping the film's momentum going. I cannot think of another film where the soundtrack was so integral to the overall experience. The performances by the entire cast were outstanding. Cillian Murphy was remarkable as Oppenheimer, delivering an Oscar-worthy performance. I was captivated by the way the film delved into his psyche and Murphy conveyed a range of emotions solely through his facial expressions and body language. I felt a deep empathy for his struggles as he navigated the complexities of war and politics and faced the consequences of his actions. Robert Down Jr's portrayal of Lewis Strauss was also superb. He made it seem effortless and I believe he could be a strong contender for Best Supporting Actor.

MOVIE: TOP GUN: MAVERICK

During the 1980s, the popular aviation movie 'Top Gun' achieved great success. Its sequel, 'Maverick,' also showcases exhilarating aerial stunts using actual fighter jets, making for a captivating and nostalgic film experience starring Tom Cruise. Over the past six years, the concept of 'American exceptionalism' has not been a prominent part of our discourse. The division within our nation has hindered our cultural unity, leading to a superficial form of patriotism rather than a genuine appreciation for all individuals within our country. However, while watching Top Gun: Maverick, I couldn't help but feel a surge of pride as a diverse group of men and women came together to serve a common purpose for their country. This is not to diminish the impact of Tony Scott's 1986 film, which still holds narrative, historical, and cultural significance. From beach volleyball games in jeans to characters with nicknames like Goose and Iceman, and the exhilarating scenes of fighter jets soaring to the tune of 'Danger Zone,' Top Gun has left a lasting impression. And now, 36 years later, Joseph Kosinski's sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, takes us to even greater heights. Tom Cruise returns to the cockpit, this time as a sanctioned trainer for a group of daring pilots on a mission to neutralize a nuclear threat. The stakes are higher and the thought of losing someone, especially at the hands of 'Maverick' Mitchell, is too much to bear. Cruise puts everything on the line to deliver the same thrills that made Top Gun a blockbuster hit, and in doing so, he takes the franchise to new cinematic heights.
