To be frank, even though Christopher Nolan is one of my top, if not my favorite, directors, I was initially hesitant when I learned that his next project would be Oppenheimer, a drama/biography genre he had not explored before. I was uncertain about how this film would turn out and avoided getting caught up in the hype surrounding it. HOWEVER, after watching the film, I realize that my skepticism was unfounded and I now have a newfound admiration and respect for Nolan's work. Oppenheimer was an exceptional film! Despite its nearly three-hour runtime, I was amazed by how the film maintained a brisk pace throughout.

The intensity never waned and it felt like a ticking time bomb, constantly building towards something greater. Ludwig Göransson's flawless soundtrack played a crucial role in keeping the film's momentum going.

I cannot think of another film where the soundtrack was so integral to the overall experience. The performances by the entire cast were outstanding. Cillian Murphy was remarkable as Oppenheimer, delivering an Oscar-worthy performance.

I was captivated by the way the film delved into his psyche and Murphy conveyed a range of emotions solely through his facial expressions and body language. I felt a deep empathy for his struggles as he navigated the complexities of war and politics and faced the consequences of his actions. Robert Down Jr's portrayal of Lewis Strauss was also superb.

He made it seem effortless and I believe he could be a strong contender for Best Supporting Actor.
