Unbelievable

This is honestly one of the best that Netflix has to offer, and it is certainly a limited series that I can highly recommend.
Plot
The material this 2019 8-part police procedural covers is both heavy and can be triggering, but it is illuminated well by the top-rate writing and the powerful performances turned in by its cast. A cast including Toni Collette, Merrit Wever, and Kaitlyn Dever.

"Unbelievable" takes a slow-burn approach in unfolding the story, but it is done so methodically and purposefully, in order to highlight how police investigations into sexual assault cases should be conducted, and also how they can go terribly amiss. Additionally, it also highlights the fallout to victims of such heinous crimes.
Story
The story follows a young girl named Marie Adler (Kaitlyn Dever) who's life takes a devastating turn after she is sexually assaulted in Washington state, and the two male detectives assigned to her case bully her into retracting her initial report. However, two years later a series of similar sexual assault cases are reported, and two female detectives (Meritt Wever and Toni Collette) from two separate cities both conclude that they may be chasing the same perpetrator.
There is a reason this limited series became a popular watch on Netflix, and although the topic may be distressing it is still an addictive watch to unravel from the beginning right to its final episode. So, if you're a fan of crime-thrillers then let this one be your next watch. A word of caution to those who have been victim to sexual assault, this can be highly triggering so please proceed with care.
