Does it was valuable lesson for me ar not?

I was at a party with my friends. We were all having a great time, dancing and enjoying ourselves. But then, something happened that made me question my actions.
There was this guy at the party who I didn't know very well let's call him Jake. Jake seemed a bit shy and reserved so I thought it would be funny to play a prank on him to loosen him up.
I decided to pour a cup of cold water on Jake while he wasn't looking. I thought it would be a harmless joke and that everyone would laugh. when I did it Jake got really upset and angry. He yelled at me in front of everyone and stormed out of the party.
After the incident I felt terrible. I realized that my prank had crossed a line and hurt Jake's feelings. I never intended to make him feel humiliated or angry. I genuinely thought it would be a lighthearted prank, but I didn't consider how it might affect him.
In that moment I realized that I was the asshole. I should have respected Jake's boundaries and not assumed that everyone would find my prank funny. I reached out to Jake to apologize and explain that I didn't mean to hurt him. I learned the importance of considering others' feelings and seeking their consent before pulling any pranks or jokes.
Looking back, I regret my actions and understand why Jake reacted the way he did. It was a valuable lesson for me to be more mindful of how my actions can impact others, even if my intentions are not malicious.
