I'm a feminist not a monster

I am a young woman (30), I have a good job and a satisfying life. I'm single and I happen to know guys who are interested in getting to know me. The last guy I met left me shocked because I considered the idea that in a couple the man commands and the woman executes, at least for the new generations, to have faded.

I received a feminist education, of which I am proud, for which it is not permissible that a woman should be submissive to a man, otherwise he feels his virility threatened. In a couple, or in any case between two people, this relationship between dominator and submissive should not exist, but it should have equal weight and importance. It is demeaning to be told that, just because you believe in certain ideas, you are a "monster". It is shameful to instill in women a sense of inadequacy and blame them in this way, making them believe they are wrong just because they said no to such subjection.

I would like to tell the girls not to give in to this blackmail, not to feel wrong or "monsters". We must respect ourselves, protect and respect our dignity. Being treated like puppets doesn't mean being loved. Let's teach our boys and children to have mutual respect, that no one should dominate the other, that we women are not a puppet in anyone's hands.

Love is mutual respect and sharing, not prevarication.
