Argentina will win the 2022 World Cup!๐Ÿ˜ My comp. entry ..rightly so or wrongly so.๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Nov 10, 2022 1:40 PM

Well, here's my entry the beloved team of SportX and their moderation thereto๐Ÿ™ I know next to nowt about footy and in general as I once told CryptoSookie, "I'd rather eat a plate of dirt than watch footy" ...however, my only time I do get involved in footy is once every 4 years for the world cup and that's it. Great time to spend with mates round each other's houses and of course down the pub. ๐Ÿ˜

So, let's have a breakdown and here goes.

Why do I think they will win?๐Ÿค”

They've won twice before but not for a long time, so could be due, and they are a South American team๐Ÿ‘. They're pretty good down that part of the world given Brazil are quite kick ass and Uruguay gave it a good go some time back๐Ÿ˜. I have bets on with some mates already๐Ÿ˜ฒ... and in the history bit I shall give further reasons why. But for now, I like their blue and white shirts and even Leo beer in Thailand is doing some cool promo cans with different flags ...low and behold, I ended up with their flag on ma cans of beer the other day ..that's a good omen eh๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคช๐Ÿคช๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ

Players: Umm, only know one lol๐Ÿ™„

I know a bloke called Messi. He's getting on a bit now so I guess it would be nice for him to win a world cup too before he gives up footy. The last world cup he played in 4 games and only scored one goal ..pretty bad eh, so I hope he can get it together and score shedloads this time. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

History of Argentina: The really best bit!๐Ÿคช

Well, the best ever moment has to be "The hand of God"๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™. To me the most legendary moment of footy ever that English footy fans still whine and moan about until today.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Yep, you all know the history of that Quarter final and knocking England out, but as Maradona himself said: "Maradona later said he considered the goal to be "symbolic revenge" for the United Kingdom's victory over Argentina in the Falklands War four years earlier." Wikipedia 'Hand of God'. So for that little bit of history, I wonder if Argentina will meet England once again in 2022 somewhere down the line and show them what's what. Sorry to say as an Englishman I am: I don't think England will ever win a world cup again. Tired of waiting since I was two years old๐Ÿ˜Ž and if they do meet Argentina then England just cannot beat them IMO, but hey lol you can argue that one with me Blighty fans.๐Ÿ˜‚

Questions for discussion๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿบ

Well, please comment if you actually know something about footy and Argentina's footy team for real as I don't know excrement really, so sorry in advance๐Ÿ™

Who would I like to win?๐Ÿ˜

I always love the underdog teams to do well. In 1990, Cameroon with a bunch of basically working lads and with a tiny national budget, as opposed to those teams like overpaid England players, made it all the way to the quarter-finals where England did knock them out, but kudos to them and really showed up those overpaid players along the way. Soooo, yep love to see Cameroon (at 250/1 on William Hill) win it.

So, there we go SportX team, my entry in the competition๐Ÿ™ Ok ...not ok? I won't be offended if not ok๐Ÿ˜ but I did try to answer the bullet points laid out as you can see๐Ÿ™

Have fun all and enjoy the World cup. I'm looking forward to it and may drink more ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ than usual too. Whooo hoo, come on Cameroon and Argentina too!!!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

Cheers, CryptoGlyn. ๐Ÿฆ†
