From Priority to an After Thought

Manchester United transfer window thus far has been some sort of strange one as the manager himself talked about the priority of signing a number 9 as his foremost preference yet when the transfer window opened he has behaved in every different way.

His first signing of the season  was Mason Mount and he has costed United around 55m and although he is a very good player but he wasn't the one that they needed the most at this point and has paid huge amount for his signature too especially when United had a reported transfer budget of around 100m . More than half of it is consumed on one player.

United has to an extent made a mistake to let David De Gea go as they should have tried to keep him for at least two seasons and now are going to spend 40m on Onana and despite the fact that he is a top class keeper United are still paying too much money on another area which they could have handled in a better way .

Now comes to the hot topic of their number 9 .

A handful of players were linked with Manchester United and it had started with Harry Kane who was Ten Hags msin choice of a forward but there are two problems with this deal first is money as he is too costly for United perspective as he will cost around 80m+ and secondly Spurs are not willing to sell him to any direct rival.

United has also set their eyes on Victor Osimhen but the the Napoli forward will cost twice as much money than Kane so he is effectively out of equation too .

Goncalo Ramos and Kolo Muani are also pretty good forwards but again both are available in excess of 80m which currently Uniter could not afford

And they thought that signing young Atlanta forward Hojlund might be a bit easy and he might well be a cheaper option too but that hasn't been the case for United either as he is proving very costly too .

Realistically United are getting stuck in a situation on which they shouldn't had to be in the transfer  window and one may call it poor planning thus far ...
