Lionel Messi confirmed as new captain of Inter Miami

The Argentine superstar, in all likelihood, is also expected to start Wednesday’s Leagues Cup match against Atlanta United.   Coming on as a substitute on his Inter Miami debut, Lionel Messi swept the football world off their feet with a stunning last-gasp winner against Cruz Azul, last week. Now, Inter Miami head coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino has confirmed that Messi will be wearing the captain’s armband in his second Inter Miami appearance. The Argentine superstar, in all likelihood, is also expected to start Wednesday’s Leagues Cup match against Atlanta United. The duration of Messi’s stay on the field will, however, depend on his fitness, Martino said.   This was always going to be expected as Messi would have signed to be given a major role for Inter Miami that's why they would have spent so heavily for him. Now the news have emerged that Linel Messi has been appointed as a captain of the club. He still has an uphill task at Inter Miami as the team is struggling to make any sort of impact what so ever and are rock bottom of the league. So this won't be an easy task for  Messi to bring  them up the table and I guess winning the league this season would be impossible. Messi  has  been  the most sought after player in world football and Saudi clubs has tried their best to sign him this summer but they have failed to do so as he opted to move to America and now he is playing for Inter Miami. French footballers' union threaten legal action over 'loft' decision

Kylian Mbappe has been dropped from PSG's squad for their tour of Asia after stating his intention to leave the Ligue 1 champions next summer, but that move has been slammed by the UNFP The French footballers' union has threatened to take legal action against PSG for its treatment of Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe has been left out of the Ligue 1 champions' squad for their tour of Japan, with the club now attempting to force through an exit for their superstar. The France captain has revealed he will leave the Parc des Princes at the end of his contract, which expires next summer. This dispute is taking a new turn as Kylian Mbappe and PSG are turning up against each other and this is not in the interest of the player or the club. This dispute started as Mbappe refused to sign a new deal with PSG and it has been understood from various  sources  has claimed that  Mbappe has already made an agreement with Madrid that he will join them after  his contract  expires with PSG next summer. Now PSG has put up Mbappe for sale as they believes that  Mbappe has betrayed them by making any sort of  agreement   with Real Madrid and they have opted to leave him out of their pre season tour. PSG has made it clear that will accept the highest bid for Mbappe from whichever clubs it arrives . On the other hand Mbappe is pretty much certain he will not join any other club apart from Real Madrid. While there is every chance  that Madrid  will be willing to pay around 150m for Mbappe but they are not willing to break the bank and indulge in  any kind of bidding war with any other club so for that  reason Mbappe has made it clear to PSG that he is even willing to sit out the whole season and run down his current PSG contract and will join Madrid next summer. Mbappe has no shortage of buyers though and it has been reported that a Saudi club is willing to pay  in excess of 200m$  to PSG for his signature and also willing to  pay him such  an amount annually. The big problem for Mbappe is that if he doesn't plays regularly he might loose his shape and wouldn't be prepared for the upcoming Euro that's why France football player association is showing his concerns on such a treatment of the player. From Priority to an After Thought

Manchester United transfer window thus far has been some sort of strange one as the manager himself talked about the priority of signing a number 9 as his foremost preference yet when the transfer window opened he has behaved in every different way.  His first signing of the season  was Mason Mount and he has costed United around 55m and although he is a very good player but he wasn't the one that they needed the most at this point and has paid huge amount for his signature too especially when United had a reported transfer budget of around 100m . More than half of it is consumed on one player.  United has to an extent made a mistake to let David De Gea go as they should have tried to keep him for at least two seasons and now are going to spend 40m on Onana and despite the fact that he is a top class keeper United are still paying too much money on another area which they could have handled in a better way . Now comes to the hot topic of their number 9 . A handful of players were linked with Manchester United and it had started with Harry Kane who was Ten Hags msin choice of a forward but there are two problems with this deal first is money as he is too costly for United perspective as he will cost around 80m+ and secondly Spurs are not willing to sell him to any direct rival. United has also set their eyes on Victor Osimhen but the the Napoli forward will cost twice as much money than Kane so he is effectively out of equation too . Goncalo Ramos and Kolo Muani are also pretty good forwards but again both are available in excess of 80m which currently Uniter could not afford  And they thought that signing young Atlanta forward Hojlund might be a bit easy and he might well be a cheaper option too but that hasn't been the case for United either as he is proving very costly too . Realistically United are getting stuck in a situation on which they shouldn't had to be in the transfer  window and one may call it poor planning thus far ... Source

Wise Or Fool?

Spurs bosses are holding firm for Harry Kane and they are not willing to let him go but the way they are treating the issue seems a risky one. Harry Kane has one year left on his current contract and although there is a contract extension on the table for him which is believed to have a significant pay rise as they are willing to give him more than 300k per week plus adds on but he is in no mood to sign a contract extension at least till the time window is open. Bayern Munich are looking to have a very strong interest in him and they also wants to sign a player who can replace Robert Lewondwski since they don't have a player in his mould and have struggled in the previous season as they barely won the title due to a slip up from Borrusia Dortmund and now Tuchel wants to rectify this issue in this transfer window.  Tuchel knows that Kane is the best player to replace Lewondowski needs to be replaced this window and Kane is an ideal candidate for him and that's why they have submitted a second bid which is believed to be in the excess of 70m but as per multiple reports Spurs boss Daniel Levy is not willing to let him go and will reject the second offer as well. It will be interesting to see if Bayern will return with a third offer of a 80m or not for which Spurs are currently holding out. In case if they don't allow him to leave this summer and if he don't sign a new contract than it will become a very bizzare situation for Spurs where he would be able to leave on a free transfer next summer and will have the option of joinning any club of his own choice and could even stay in Premier League as he have many takers.

How China’s football boom went from world’s best-paid players to abandoned stadiums

Harsh Covid restrictions, a struggling economy and hasty planning turned the home of Carlos Tevez, Hulk, and Oscar into a cemetery of abandoned stadiums and collapsed clubs.   And the boom and bust could be a cautionary tale for Saudi Arabia - whose own football ambitions can draw some direct lines to China. Uefa chiefs have urged the kingdom not to make "similar mistakes" which blighted the rise of the sport in the Communist nation. Football fans around the world are being left gobsmacked as Saudi scoops players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema on huge contracts worth hundreds of millions. This is something very well analysed and  the  and  the  overall details provided are more than enough to have  a deep case study for any country trying to follow the footsteps of  China in football. For football to flourish in a country there are several factors  that are to be in placed  and that starts with the popularity of football in general public. One may consider that signing big names does makes an impact and that adds to the popularity of a certain league and may impact  in a positive way in the overall football popularity in that country. Now the test case of China is a strange one and one that will have an impact and others can learn lessons from it.  China has paid a lot of money on bringing in players like Hulk, Oscar and Tevez who were all on big pays. The biggest one was for Tevez who was being paid  a pound per second such was the nature of his contract. China has put a lot of money in football without proper planning and that has resulted in huge financial losses so now we have come to a stage where China has been terminating the contracts of players while many players are complain about the non payments of  the salary that is because of bad planning as the overall popularity of football was close to nothing in the country and that's why it has resulted in such a turmoil.  Now Saudi Arabia are trying to follow the footprints of China and it might end up same like that so if you want to be successful in football than  you need follow the models of PSG and Manchester City as both clubs are doing much better financially and that's why they are a great role model indeed. Funding for a Striker

There is no doubt about the fact that Manchester United needs a striker big time this season but the problem for United is that they needs to remain within the guidelines of Financial Fair Play and they have already spent the majority of their budget on Mason Mount and they are also looking to sign Onana as they needs a goalkeeper too so in there almost all of the available transfer budget will be consumed on these two transfer while their priority of a Striker remains there but they will needs funds for that . For that purpose following are some of the players that they can sell in order to generate funds for a striker transfer because a big player like Kane or Osimhen will cost in excess of 100m . 1. Jadon Sancho                  Since joining from Dortmund he has proved to be nothing short of a disaster as he has been unable to settle into the lineup and has thus far only produced 12 goals and 6 assists where as playing for Dortmund he has scored more than 50 goals and also had 60+ assists too .  So he is one player United can cash on and if they are willing to sell him than he can easily generate 50m or so and another advantage they can take from this transfer is that he can used in a player swap deal with Spurs for the signing of Kane that will make negotiations much easier for United as Spurs do hold a interest in him. 2. Harry Maguire                  The most expensive defender in the history of English football is nothing short of a disaster and to some extent United bosses also knows this fact deep inside which isn't great for them . Now he has been largely out of favor at United where they give him a chance even below Luke Shaw who is a left back by trade so this is where United needs to be smart and should sell him to generate some funds . PSG were interested in him and although they have signed Ugrate they still may be interested in signing him as Ramos looks set to leave PSG this summer so they might he tempted to being in another center back in that case he can easily generate a transfer fee in the region of 40m or so. 3. Scot Mactimoney            His United career has been cut into two halves at times he looks undroppable and other times he do struggles to get into the team so as he is still young there is a good transfer fee can be generated from him and few clubs have shown interest in him previously but it all depends on their transfer negotiations if they can generate anything in the region of 30m that will be great for them.  4. Dean Henderson                This is a very curious case something that is hard to understand that is where only United can explain what they are doing . For the past two seasons he has shown in Premier League that is right up their with some of the best goalkeepers in Premier League be it keeping clean sheets or making big saves and yet with the imminent departure of David De Gea around the corner it looks like United are not satisfied with him as they are signing a new number 1.   So if they are finally going to sell him then there is a good chance that he can he can generate something in the region of 40m which will come pretty handy for United .

Fantasy Premier League

The new season for Premier League will get underway from August 11 and the fantasy premier league is already live now for the new season. The next season will see a few price changes some have been too much pricey to start with. Is Haaland maybe too expensive this year? Well the price of Erling Halaand has been too inflated at the start of the season as he will be available at 14m which is in all fairness way too much as a 12.5 or even a 13 will have been a realistic one but a 14m is way too much and managers will need to make a decision on whether they are willing to spend so much money on one player or not because its points versus price game and you need to make a decision whether you are willing to pay so much for a single player or not. There might be better options available for at much cheap price. Harry Kane (£12.5m)  Harry Kane is priced relatively at a low price as he is worth all the the money because he is a source of consistent points in FPL and that's going to be the same case yet again , the only thing is he is bound to give points on a regular basis . He has either scored or assisted on regular basis in fantasy premier league and if he stays for another season than it is going to be same yet again as there won't be much of  a difference. Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.0m) That's a bit too much price to start with , although he is playing in midfield and can provide a lot of value with his assist providing ability or even goal scoring threats but still 8 looks a bit too overpriced to me . Also if you look at the defensive form of Liverpool in last season it wasn't good as they have struggled to keep clean sheets so if Liverpool are unable to keep clean sheets than he doesn't looks that much valuable. Midfield bargains Havertz (£7.5m)  This can be a hit or miss transfer as managers might be willing to see how he plays and where he plays in the Arsenal setup before making a move for him but if he can hit the ground running he can be a really valuable asset for fantasy managers and can be a real good bargain and real value for money but only if he can perform well. Bruno Fernandes and Martin Odegaard (both £8.5m)  These players are relatively cheaper than what we have expected them to be as they both have performed really well last season especially martin Odegaard who was a constant threat playing for Arsenal and Bruno Fernandez has an added advantage of set pieces and penalties so these two can be a source of constant point in midfield at a very low price too so will feature heavily in the plans of managers for next season. Mbappe ? Has Anything Changed ?

PSG president says Mbappe cannot leave for free This is a new development  in Mbappe transfer saga as the club President has insisted that he won't allow one of the best players in the world for free. Well Mbappe was on the verge of move  to Real Madrid last season but than an intervention from the french President persuaded him to stay in Paris with PSG.  Now he is getting unsettled  at the club and has given his unwillingness to sign the contract extension as his current contract is due to expire next summer. This has lead to PSG making a decision and they have told Mbappe to either sign a contract extension or he should leave this transfer window. The most obvious choice for Mbappe has been Real Madrid as they have been interested in him for a while now and dearly wants to sign him. But the way he went about things last season were very annoying for Madrid and Florentino Perez so this might be a contributing factor where Perez might just think not to sign him as he has ditched them last summer . Ideally Madrid needs to find a striker this summer as Karim Benzema has left the club and there will be no better replacement than Mbappe but a move falls through than they will need to find a suitable replacement soon. There is a general understanding that he will be going to cost in excess of 200m$ as he has been one of the best player in the world. And if he joins Madrid this will be huge for them as its going to uplift their standards for sure.   Source

Saudi Pro League Done Deals

This transfer window has been a very unique one where the clubs of Saudi Pro league are very very active in the markets of Europe and we all know once they start throwing in money they would be hard to stop and many clubs can't match their valuations in the market. Following are the deals that have took place and the good thing about majority of these deals is that a player who is in his prime has been picked in these deals , this is something that wasn't happening before. 1. Edouard Mendy, GK: Chelsea to Al Ahli (£16m, $21m)                                    This is a transfer that is favourable for all parties, as Mendy was once undropable as he was the mainstay of Chelsea's defence, he has won a Champions league with them and has performed solidly but in the end he has got injured and as a result he has lost his place to Kepa . Now Chelsea has decided to sell him in order to generate some funds and to avoid Financial Fair Play. This transfer will be very useful to Saudi team as well as he will provide them solidity on the back as well. 2. Kalidou Koulibaly, DF: Chelsea to Al Hilal (£17m, $21.61m)                                      A player for whom Chelsea has paid heavily but couldn't either settle into life or else has passed his prime and after just a single season they have opted to sell him in order to cut short their losses. For Saudi club they will be hoping that he will be able to find his best form again and that will prove very useful to them,  3. Karim Benzema, FW: Real Madrid to Al Ittihad (Free transfer)                                  This has been one of the biggest transfers for Saudi league this season as he was playing at the peak of his skills at Real Madrid and they have reportedly offered him a contract extension which he has denied swiftly and opted to join the Saudi Club on a three year deal . This deal has started another new era for the Saudi league as he was the first big name to join them this summer. The magnitude of the deal can be seen with the effect that there were more people who have attended his presentation than even for Cristiano Ronaldo so this is something massively. 4.  Ruben Neves, MF: Wolverhampton Wanderers to Al Hilal (€55m, $60m                                           This is another huge transfer for the Saudi League as the stature of the player might not be that big but he still has his best years ahead of him and that is something of great interest and help the overall league grow. This transfer has many great implications as this will pave a new way for other players joining them in their prime years.  For Neves this will be a new challenge for him and as Wolves barely survived last season so this wasn't an ideal scenario for him to stay there and a fresh challenge will be more than useful for the player as well. 5.  Marcelo Brozovic, MF: Inter Milan to Al Nassr (€18m, $20m)                                           This is another positive transfer for the Saudi league as Brozovic has been playing really well for Inter Milan and he still has got four to five years ahead of him. So this will be a transfer that is good for the player and the league and Inter will not be too happy for loosing one of their main players and it was again shrewd piece of business for the league. 6.  Jota, FW: Celtic to Al Ittihad (£25m, $31.7m)                          This is another big deal that has been struck this season summer transfer window as he is a young winger that has many great years ahead of him and he has been signed now this is something that will mark another new dawn for the Saudi league as they have signed many great great players that are relatively young too and can provide a lot of value for money for them which will turn things around in the future. Chelsea's Mass Exodus

Chelsea are seeing a lot of ins and outs this summer with too many players available on their roster they needed to settle out things properly and as we all know the financial fair play model is being observed too so each and every club needs to comply with it. Chelsea have sold several players in this window and some of them have generated some good amounts too. 1. Kai Havertz - Arsenal, £65m                       This is the biggest summer sale of Chelsea so far as they bought him for around   75m £ three years ago and he has been considered as  a major flop for them as he was able to score only 19 goals in premier league and couldn't settle into life at Chelsea although he has scored a big winner in the champions league final against Manchester City that will be always remembered as his biggest achievement for them.  This is a transfer that have got a lot of benefits for Chelsea , the only downside is that they have to sell the player to a direct rival but at the same time they have generated some good amount of money from him too. So its a win win situation for Chelsea. 2. Mason Mount  - Manchester United , £55m                                        Another massive transfer that has took place for Chelsea , actually they have been pretty good at generating some serious amount of money from their transfers this summer transfer window and although they have lost a fan favourite in this one still they should be happy that they have got some good amount of money for a player who was reluctant to sign a new contract with them so they could have lost him for nothing in the end , that's why this transfer rates highly in favour of Chelsea.  For United there boss Eric Ten Hag knows him from his time in Eredevise  where he has played on loan from Chelsea and Ten Hag has been a fan of him since then so he was desperate to get this deal done as he knows the qualities of  the player and must also have a good plan on how to utilise him to help his squad grow. 3 . Mateo Kovacic - Manchester City, £30m                                       Another positive deal for Chelsea as they were able to generate some good amount of money from the deal and it looks like another win win situation for them , although Kovacic is a very good player but the fact that its hard to get regular game time in Chelsea due to their extensive transfer business last summer and winter  has lead to him being a obsoleted figure at Chelsea so this move will be good for him and as fas as Chelsea are concerned getting 30m for a non playing mid fielder is not a bad amount at all. 4.  Ruben Loftus-Cheek - AC Milan, £17.18m                                                       Another player who has hardly played for Chelsea and with so many options available it looks like he wouldn't get a chance to get into the starting 11 , that's why he has seen so many loan spells during his career and finally he was able to find a permanent move for himself. This is an  another transfer that bodes well for Chelsea to balance their books as they have generated significant amount of money from him. So they must be pretty happy about it.  5. Kalidou Koulibaly - Al Hilal, undisclosed & Edouard Mendy - Al-Ahli, undisclosed                                            Two players who were not happy at Chelsea has been moved again in this transfer and it is believed that  Chelsea should have generated at least 20 to 25m from these two transfers . Another positive set of business for Chelsea as Koulibaly couldn't settle into life in England and also looks to past his prime , it looked like that Chelsea has signed him pretty late than they would have liked to do so while Mendy has also lost his place to Kepa after getting injured so he wasn't getting much game time either. While Chelsea's proposed move of Ziyech collapsed after a failed medical of the player who seems to  have a injured knee so the Saudi Club has pulled away from the transfer. While N Golo Kante's knee injuries also wasn't serving him well at all that's why they opted to let him go without renewing his contract.

Dissecting Arsenal Transfer Business

Arsenal are doing some fair amount of business  in this summer transfer window and the good thing about these deals is that they are getting it done fairly quickly so that the players can link up with the rest of the squad before they head up for the Pre Season which would be a huge advantage. Following are the players that Arsenal are looking at currently . 1. Kai Havertz : This is a done deal already where Arsenal have signed the German for a few in the region of 65m £ that's massive given the fact that he has underperformed massively at Chelsea and was not able to score goals at all. But the major reason that looks like derived Arteta is that he is highly versatile and can easily play in 3 to 4 different offensive positions . That's what Mikel Arteta loves to see from his Squad where the players can constantly interchange positions with ease and it gives the manager  an extra advantage of playing different formations within a match. Such a luxury has tempted Arsenal and Arteta to pay heavily for him and reportedly he is also on a very high wage too in the region if 330k£ per week which is massive for an Arsenal player so there must be something that Arteta has seen in him . How he will fare for Arsenal will be very interesting thing to see. 2. Declan Rice : Arsenal are looking to sign a holding midfielder as they believe that was a major area where their title challenge got derailed as they are too dependent on Thomas Partey who has struggled in the defining part of last season with form and injury.  So they have identified West Ham  United captain Declan Rice to be the main man for them and although he has only one year left on his current contract he wont come in cheaply as a fee in the region of 105m £ is quoted and although there has been a formal agreement reached between Arsenal and West Ham the issue is with the structure of payments as West Ham wants to get it done quickly so this is delaying the deal although a deal is expected to be stucked by Monday. Declan Rice has started as a center back before moving to midfield an area where he is simply one of the best in his role in Premier League that's why Arsenal are so much desperate to sign him and he was the one who costed them dearly in the title tilt last season so they wants to get this deal over the line soon 3. Jurrien Timber : well this is one player whom I haven't seen much and dont have much knowledge about his game play . But he has been rated very highly as he is versatile too although his primary position is a center back and it was William Saliba's injury last season that proved too hard to Arsenal to bear so that's why Arteta want to cover all his basis this time around as he has gone for a center back early in the window.  Although he has some shortcomings as he is not so good arially but as we have seen with Lisandro  Martinez that he can be successful like him despite of short height.  He is expected to cost Arsenal around 37m £.

The Hot Properties

Two players have been on the center of attention in this transfer window in England . One is surely going to change the club while the other one is tempted but his situation is complicated , here I am talking about England and Spurs  captain Harry Kane and West Ham captain Declan Rice . There is no doubt about the fact that Rice wants to move away from the Hammers this season and the Hammers also knows this fact too but they wont be selling him cheap for sure . Two clubs are in the race for him Manchester City and Arsenal and while the player is inclined towards Arsenal, the fact that City have entered the race will surely going to make things easy for Arsenal . Now this is a very curious transfer scenario to me as I know he is English and has now wealth of Premier League experience plus he has been one of the top players in his position but the money that is being demanded by the Hammers looks a bit too much.  As it has been reported they won't be selling him for anything less  than 120m £ and while Two Bids from Arsenal has been rejected those were 80m plus ads on and 75m plus ads on . Now Arsenal has got back with the third bid of around 105m  after it has been reported that City has launched a 90m bid for him . So this two horse race is only going to escalate his price further up and it wont be any good scenario for Arsenal.  As he has been their top transfer target this summer but the thing that I couldn't understand is that why they are so adamant on him they can sign Moise Caiciedo from Brighton for half the price and he is a pretty good player too. For City they want to become the ultimate powerhouse of England football that's why they are looking to sign him as he with Rodri will form a partnership that is going to be too hard to beat for any team and it will dawn a new supremacy of City who has been dominating the English football already so that's why Arsenal are so keen on the player.  Now moving to our second player of interest this window and its Harry Kane England and Spurs captain and a player who is at the peak of his powers right now . Kane would have ideally loved to move to Manchester United as they are interested in his signature as well but Spurs have made it pretty clear that won't be selling him to any Ebglish club for sure.  Kane has only one year left on his current deal but even that is not going to put any major impact on his price tag as it has been reported that Spurs have set an initial asking price of 80m £ plus ads on for him . Thomas Tuchel is a huge fan of Kane and with the departure of Lewandowski last summer they need to replace him and there will be no better option than Harry Kane so they have launched a 60m bid top but it has been rejected as per reports . It's also worth noting that Real Madrid were initially interested in Kane but they have since cooled their interest as they might have got a signal from their top transfer target Kylian Mbappe so this has made things pretty simple for Munich if they do intend to sign the player they can do it without much of a problem.  Also there is no denying in the fact that whichever team Kane is going to move he will enjoy his time and is expected to keep on his scoring spree. Desperate or decent? Should Man Utd sign Ollie Watkins?

Erik ten Hag's search for a new striker is no closer to a resolution, with Manchester United having been linked with a number of attacking players and yet no significant progress has been made at the start of the summer transfer window. Manchester United are in dear need of a number 9 this season and there hunt has started with Harry Kane  as he is considered their top transfer target this summer, but what we have seen from United till now is somewhat  hard to understand . They have gone all out for Mason Mount at the moment for whom their three bids have been rejected thus far, its Ok to understand that they are after him first because he is bound to switch his club soon and ManU doesn't want to loose on the player . But the fact remains that Manchester  United do needs a Central Striker and for that they should have started their pursuit with Harry Kane and in all fairness he should be signed for whatever  Sours or demanding. It was understandable that Harry Kane won't come cheaply as he will cost around 100 to 120m $ for sure or may be more than that. But one thing is for sure that he is a proven goalscorer and can deliver league title to Manchester United which will be worth the money they spend on him and also he can still have 3 to 4 very good years ahead of him. Another player that has been linked with multiple clubs including United  has been Victor Osimhen who had a wonderful season with Napoli and has fired them to league title after 30 odd years , so he is currently a hot property across the globe and is young too but he will cost more than 150m $ specially if too many clubs enter the race for him. Another thing is that he is young and has many great years ahead of him which could be a advantage too. So lets see if they moves for him but United interest isn't that concrete in him at this point. Now United has been linked with another Premier League striker in the form of Ollie Watkins and this could prove to be a good transfer too if United are willing to do the business although he doesn't boasts the same caliber as of Kane or Osimhen but he is more than decent and may thrive in the United system. I think United would have originally loved to go for Ivan Toney but sadly he has been banned for eight months so United has to look elsewhere and in the process Watkins has emerged as an option here. So who should they sign this summer? Source

Team of the Season

Its better late than never and here I am going to bring my team of the season and normally it constitutes of players from domestic sides but as the World Cup was played during the mid season and that's why I will pick some players from World Cup performances too. I am going with a 4-4-2 formation here.  GK : Emi Martinez One of the biggest regrets for an Arsenal fan as they opted to let him go to Aston Villa and instead kept Berd Leno which proved to be disastrous decision by the management as he made an immediate impact after moving to Villa and later it paved his way to Argentina number 1. He has a good season in Premier League and was pivotal to the success of Argentina in the world Cup where he was the hero of the shootout in the final . So I have picked him for the Goalkeepers slot. He was also handed the golden glove for his performances in the final . RB: Kieran Trippier Well there was only one player who could have been picked on this slot as Trippier was simply amazing for New Castle United and he played a vital role in their success during the recent Premier League season where they have finished third and booked a slot for Champions League next season which is a great achievement for them largely thanks to Trippier who was good both defensively as well as offensively . Center Back: Nayef Aguerd That's another pick based on his strong performances in the recent World Cup where Morroco were rock solid defensively and reached the Semi Final of the World Cup surely a great feat for them and Aguerd was important member of their defense . In the Premier League as well he has provided a lot of value to West Ham team but as we all know one player can't cover the whole team when it comes to defense but his individual performances were pretty good for West Ham Ham United too. CB: Willaim Saliba Well how important was William Saliba to the Arsenal title challenge? We can look into it by having a close look at the number for Arsenal with and without William Saliba . He was loaned on the previous occasions as Arteta believed he needs to develop his game more. But after being names as the player of the season for the French League as he was deemed to be the best defenders in France in that season there were very few doubts that he won't be a nailed on starter for Arsenal and that's what has happened where he gave Arsenal something that they were missing for the past few decades . A solid presence at the back and immediately made an impact and brought Arsenal to the top of the league and they were very miserly too where they have let very few goals in . But once Saliba got injured at the back end of the season Arsenal started struggling in defense and has even thrown away good leads too. He was instrumental for Arsenal.  LB : Raphael Guerriero  This was an interesting choice as not much players  made an impact in this position neither in the World Cup nor in the domestic leagues.  So it was Raphael Guerriero who made the cut as he performed fairly well both domestically as well as for Portugal too in the World Cup.  He was an important member of Borussia Dortmund side and lead their title charge which came down effectively on the last day of the season and the best thing about this guy is his willingness to move forward and Joins the wingers that makes him a hot property in his position.  CM : Kevin De Bruyne  Although he wasn't at his most belligerent best this season as injuries has hampered his season to some extent and Pep Guardiola did managed his minutes too along the way but he was still a very important member of the City side that has won the Treble and he has played an important part in that . He was involved in important goal contributions and even when he is not scoring we all know how good he is with his forward and key passes and that's why he bags a lot of Assists.  It wasn't much different this season too.  CM : Martin Odegaard A very few would have considered his performances but he was as good as anything this season for Arsenal although he has played a bit more higher up the pitch but I adjusted him here as he also plays in the diamond of midfield too . He shown a brilliant character throughout the season for Arsenal and kept things going even in the back end of the season where the performance  of many Arsenal players faded away but he was able to provide Arsenal with the spark and scored some wonderful goals along with his Assists.  He is a true leader and will get better with time.  RW: Bukayo Saka Another Arsenal player that made up my list is Bukayo Saka as he has performed so well throughout the season and was easily the best Arsenal player on the pitch from whom many teams were fearing due to his pace and also his control of the ball.  He has scored some wondeful goals this season and was involved in majority of the Arsenal forward gameplay.  That's why Arteta wanted to tie him down to a new long term contract as he was immensely successful and effective.  Although he has missed an important penalty towards the end of the season bit that is something he will learn with time.  LW: Lionel Messi This is a bit strange position that I have to allot to Messi because I didnt want to crowd my forward line.  Either way I could have opted for a 4 3 3 formation and out Messi up top too but nothing much to worry about  Lionel Messi was the hero of the World Cup and the whole World were backing him too because everyone knew that this was realistically his last chance to win the World Cup and he has done it in emphatic fashion too which handed him the player of the tournament award too.  His two goals in the final were very crucial and played a vital role in the success of his side . Overall he performed well for PSG too but wasn't able to produce some of his best football as he would have hoped to. ST : Kylian Mbappe Well the most unluckiest person in this world has to be Mbappe he has done everything he could to made sure that France should be able to win the World Cup.  From 2 nill down he shown great maturity and brought his side leveled at 2 -2 and the  in the extra time he gave his side the lead and in the process completed his hattrick too a feat that would be hard to match by anyone and even in the dying minutes he was denied by a wondeful save of Martinez . France eventually lost the world Cup on penalties to Argentina and he will have live with it . He has performed really well for PSG too and guided them to title which handed him another award in the domestic leagues too. ST : Erling Halaand  He has been easily the best striker domestically of the previous season where he was scoring for fun and some has even named him a goal machine.  He has played a pivotal role to the City Side and was one of the main reasons why they were able to win the Treble. He has smashed several records this season where he was able to break the Premier League scoring record and won the Golden boot fairly easily.   He was also on top of his game in Champions League too and was the highest scorer of Champions League too . He is a great player and has many great years ahead of him
