Pearls are beautiful, but they are the result of pain and death.

These precious jewels are created inside the oysters when a foreign body enters the interior of the mollusk, be it a parasite, a small fragment of shell or a grain of sand. As a method of protection, the oyster wraps the invading body with a substance called mother-of-pearl, made up of calcium carbonate and water. In other words, technically pearls are cysts made of mother-of-pearl.  The detail is that due to the demand for pearls for jewelry, human intervention is needed to introduce foreign bodies into the oysters and thus produce pearls, since naturally it does not happen so frequently (oysters do not get foreign bodies all the time). time).  To supply the demand, specially bred oysters are farmed to produce pearls, a process that takes more than three years until a pearl is large enough and ready for harvest. Unfortunately, more than half of the molluscs die before the pearls are harvested and less than 10% are capable of producing pearls of the quality required for jewelry.  The extraction process is painful for the oyster, and deadly for most of them. The oyster has to be opened and it is cut with a scalpel until the oyster is found, which in some cases is difficult to extract. The ones that don't die are reused to grow pearls, eventually dying at some point in the process.  . Personally, I am against the use of jewelry of all kinds, since the impact of mining and the production/obtainment of the jewelry or minerals that are used for it, generally has innumerable side effects and I believe that if we obtain minerals it should be to improve our life in some aspect and not to "beautify, appear rich or any other banal thing like that"

Weather presenter who is an AVATAR

Her name is Snezhana TumƔnova and she works as a weather presenter on Russian television SvoyoTV. It is an artificially intelligent avatar that is specifically designed to create weather forecasts and present them in an attractive and accurate way on the screen. This intelligence performs the entire process. From the capture of data, its interpretation, the generation of the script, the graphics and the filming to be broadcast. In fact, it can process weather data from various sources, analyze it, and provide predictions with great accuracy. As his appearance and voice are extremely realistic and amazing. The naturalness with which Snezhana TumƔnova interacts on screen is the result of a meticulous design and programming process, which has considered aspects such as body language, intonation and rhythm of speech to achieve effective communication that is pleasing to the public's ear. The debut of Snezhana TumƔnova in the weather section of SvoyoTV has caused a stir in the television industry, sparking a debate about the role of artificial intelligence in the media and the possible replacement of human professionals by machines. . This is impressive, I had already seen that avatars could be generated in this way, but I had not linked it to the fact that it could also collect, analyze and present the information by itself.... Cool stuff.... We are getting more and more complicated as for work! People will soon be cut off in many cases, surely alternative media will continue to exist, as always... But it will depend on us to know how to support them and that they can continue to have profitable work...

Dust to the sea

I hope you can see the images correctly without going to Twitter, but we'll see...  . Dust blasting in Patagonia is becoming more important and frequent, given the over-exploitation of this fragile ecosystem for decades, mainly sheep to produce wool... Mismanagement of the territory has become a growing and apparently unstoppable desertification due to the intense erosion of the wind and the intense rains concentrated in a few days of the year (generally autumn).  In the images of that tweet you can see in a satellite shot from yesterday, a very windy day in Patagonia and the enormous amount of dust flying towards the Atlantic Ocean, in a pre-autumn time, where nutrients begin to be scarce and any contribution external matter can generate major imbalances in the microbiota... Which becomes effects on trophic webs and more recognized species or that can be more easily observed  . . Perhaps the changes are already happening without us being able to realize it, but others can probably affect us in the medium-long term, since some of these trophic webs can include us at some point (leaving us without some species from which we feed, for example).  . Patagonia is world renowned for its low anthropogenic impact (humans), its large inhabited area, its resources (very diverse and in significant quantities) and its wild beauty in many cases... But the overexploitation of resources can end many of these aspects because the balances of nature are very fragile and here it is estimated that they are particularly fragile

Patagonian mayorum šŸ¦•

In 2012, Aurelio HernĆ”ndez, a field laborer from a ranch in the center of the Province of Chubut, in Argentine Patagonia, discovered the first bone of what would later become one of the most amazing discoveries in recent years in the field of paleontology: more than 150 fossils belonging to the remains of at least 6 specimens of the same species of giant dinosaur, the largest known to date. The finding not only drew attention due to the extreme dimensions of the fossils, but also because such a quantity of remains would make it possible to obtain the most complete anatomical reconstruction, to date, of the largest herbivores in the history of our planet. Thus began the history of Patagotitan mayorum.  Image source . The study of fossils estimated that it would have lived about 101 million years ago, in the Cretaceous period.  The impact of its discovery has been so great that museums around the world are asking for its replica to include it in their exhibitions: in 2016 one was set up at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and in 2018 another was set up. specially designed for the Field Museum of the city of Chicago. The Patagonian dinosaur was located in the central Hall, replacing the iconic Sue, the largest Tyrannosaurus rex in the world.  This specimen had a length from head to tail of approximately 40 meters, a height of 20 meters and a weight close to 70 tons.  Source 1 Source 2 Scientists specializing in dinosaurs say that it is the largest found so far, which generates a lot of tourism in the area because many want to come see the replica and right now they are enlarging the museum in my city Trelew to be able to exhibit the replica of the dinosaur skeleton, as dinosaurs are generally exhibited and being so large, they had to enlarge the museum. For now you can visit the replica that you see in the photos, but not even the one with the skeleton... They are also working on a project to be able to visit the place where it was found, but since it is far from civilization, there is no service and they have to make a significant investment to enable it to the public

Are there benefits of living near a dump?

Yesterday I was returning from the beach to my city and I saw smoke coming from the garbage area... Something that was not seen frequently years ago, only occasionally and some time ago it began to be seen very often... Yesterday the column of the smoke was impressive, there was also a lot of wind and right in the direction of the city center, so it occurred to me to film it from the car and make a post about the risks of living near garbage, since there are neighborhoods with hundreds of houses less of a kilometer, where the black smoke that we see in the video yesterday was in contact with those people Since approximately 2006 we have laws for "Urban Solid Waste Management" in my province and in the country in general as well... Therefore, it is not allowed for cities to still have active garbage dumps, much less with burning... But these burns are probably generated by metal recuperators, who burn cables and electronic components to eliminate plastics and obtain metals... Something that should not be happening due to the risks it represents for the same people who do it, since they surely do. They do without any kind of protection. . So, I imagine you already know that there are no benefits for people who live near a garbage. . So what are the risks? - Air pollution: Burning garbage produces toxic emissions, such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and fine particles, which can affect respiratory and cardiovascular health. - Soil and water pollution: Landfills can release toxic substances into the soil and water, which can harm long-term health. - Unpleasant odors: Landfills can emit unpleasant odors that can affect the psychological and physical well-being of people living nearby. - Aesthetic issues: Landfills can be a bad sight for people who live nearby. - Economic problems: Families living near landfills may find it difficult to sell or rent their properties due to the poor reputation of the area . It is important that constant monitoring of air and water quality is carried out and that regulations and standards are complied with to minimize risks to nearby families. . Is there a distance at which it can be safe to live? There is no specific distance that people need to live to be safe from the risks associated with burning rubbish dumps, as this can vary depending on geographic location, the size of the dump, and security and pollution control measures. emissions implemented. However, it is important to be as far away from the landfill as possible to minimize risks to health and well-being. A bit about chatGPT and some examples of its use

I am going to share some questions that I asked the app and its answers, starting with what problems it solves, what use it would be for BBS to incorporate this technology and an example asking some stuff ā˜† What problem does chatgpt solve? In post format  ChatGPT is a powerful language model that can generate human-like text. It can be used to solve a wide range of problems, such as: - Generating natural language responses in chatbots and virtual assistants - Creating realistic dialogue in video games and virtual worlds - Generating descriptive text for images and videos - Summarizing long documents - Translating text from one language to another - And much more! Overall, ChatGPT is a very versatile tool that can be applied to many different use cases. It's a great way to make text-based systems more human-like and intuitive to interact with. . ā˜† Will it remain free for a certain time? ChatGPT is a tool developed and maintained by OpenAI, a private company. While OpenAI has made the model available to the public, the company may choose to charge for access to the model or certain features in the future. As of my knowledge cut-off date, OpenAI provides free access to the model via the OpenAI API, which allows developers to integrate the model into their applications. However, there is a usage limit for the API and beyond that limit, you will be charged for using it. It's also worth noting that OpenAI may change its pricing or usage policies at any time. It's always worth keeping an eye on OpenAI website for the latest updates on their pricing and usage policies, to get the most recent information on the topic. . ā˜† Is openAI a decentralized company? No, OpenAI is a private company that is centrally organized and managed. It was founded by a group of researchers and entrepreneurs, including Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and Ilya Sutskever, with the goal of developing and promoting friendly AI. OpenAI operates as a for-profit company, it has funding from a variety of sources including venture capital firms, individual investors, and research grants. They also generate revenue by offering access to its models and services via its API and other products. It's worth noting that OpenAI is also committed to open research and collaboration, and has made many of its models and tools freely available to the public, and also actively participate in academic research and open-source projects. . .  ā˜† What use would it be to incorporate chatGPT into a social network like DeWeb? Incorporating ChatGPT into a social network like DeWeb could have a variety of potential uses. Here are a few possibilities: - Generating personalized news and content recommendations: ChatGPT could be used to analyze a user's interests and browsing history and generate personalized news articles, videos, and other content that the user might be interested in. - Enhancing search capabilities: ChatGPT could be used to improve the search capabilities of the social network by analyzing user queries and returning more relevant results. - Improving natural language understanding and generation: ChatGPT could be used to improve the natural language processing capabilities of the social network, making it easier for users to interact with the platform using natural language commands and queries. - Creating realistic chatbot interactions: ChatGPT could be used to create more realistic and engaging chatbot interactions for users, allowing them to get help and answers to their questions more easily. - Improving the ability to generate content: ChatGPT could be used to help users generate more compelling and engaging content, such as captions, posts, and comments, by providing suggestions and completions based on the user's input. Overall, incorporating ChatGPT into a social network like DeWeb could help to make the platform more personalized, interactive, and engaging for users. . . ā˜† What can chatGPT do for me if I am a content creator? ChatGPT can be a valuable tool for content creators in a few different ways: - Content generation: ChatGPT can help content creators generate new ideas, headlines, and outlines for their content. It can also be used to generate full articles, captions, and other written content based on a set of prompts or keywords. - Improving writing quality: ChatGPT can be used to help content creators improve the quality of their writing by identifying errors, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement. It can also be used to suggest alternative phrasings, grammar corrections and sentence structure improvements. - Transcription and Translation: ChatGPT can be used to transcribe audio and video content into text and translate it to multiple languages, making the content accessible to a wider audience. - Summarization: ChatGPT can be used to generate summaries of long-form content, making it easier for readers to quickly understand the main points and for the content creator to ensure the message is clear and concise. - Dialogue generation: ChatGPT can be used to generate realistic dialogue for scripts, plays, and other forms of fiction or non-fiction content. In summary, ChatGPT can help content creators with content generation, writing quality improvement, transcription and translation, summarization, and dialogue generation. . ā˜† Where do you get the information from? I am a machine learning model that was trained on a large dataset of text from the internet, including websites, articles, books, and more. The dataset contains a wide variety of information on many different topics, and it is constantly updated with new information. During the training process, the model learned patterns and relationships in the text, which allows it to generate new text that is similar in style and content to the text it was trained on. The information that I provide you is based on the text I was trained on and my knowledge cut-off date. It's worth noting that like any machine learning model, I may make errors or have gaps in my knowledge. It's always a good idea to verify any information I provide with additional sources. Additionally, my knowledge is limited to the information that was available at the time of my training, and my responses are based on the information that was included in the dataset. . . ā˜† Can you tell me a joke that no one has written before? As a machine learning model, I can generate text based on patterns and relationships in the data I was trained on, but I cannot create something entirely new that has never been written before. However, I can generate a new version of a joke that you might find funny: Why was the computer cold? It left its Windows open! Please note that the ability to generate jokes is limited by the dataset I was trained on, and my ability to understand the humor within a certain context. Also, it's worth noting that jokes are highly subjective and may not appeal to everyone. . . ā˜† Can't you disrespect me at least once? As a machine, I do not have the ability to respect or disrespect anyone. My programming is focused on providing accurate and helpful information within the scope of my capabilities. My purpose is to assist users with their questions and tasks in a safe and appropriate manner. Additionally, it's important to remember that being disrespectful or offensive is not a desirable behavior. It's important to treat others with kindness and respect, and I am not able to participate in any behavior that goes against this principle. . ā˜† It seems strange to me that one of your creators has disrespected Bolivia and you are "so respectful" As a machine learning model, I do not have personal opinions or beliefs, and I am not capable of disrespecting anyone or any group of people. I am designed to respond to users' queries and provide information based on the data I was trained on, and I am not capable of making value judgments or expressing personal opinions. It's important to note that OpenAI is a private company, and its employees and founders have their own personal opinions and beliefs. The statements or actions of any individual employee or founder do not represent the views or policies of the company as a whole. It's also important to remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and it's not something that I can control. I am here to help you with any question or task you might have, providing accurate information and trying my best to help you. . Well, here we can see that you can get a lot of information from the app itself, by asking it itself haha It is interesting to take it to the limit with the questions and many times it goes deep to a certain point... I am preparing another post talking to the app about lithium and the reserves of this mineral that we have in South America... Maybe tomorrow I will share it
